Agree with most of the comments in previous reviews.

Hotel has a slightly 70s feel, but is not shabby! Pool and outside seating area gives it a real holiday feel.

Location is superb - short walk from railway station (beware of the steps) and 200m from the "balcony of the meditteranean" - superb views and great ice-cream from the many gelateria nearby.

Room was a good size, very clean, cool parquet flooring, lots of wood - and a balcony - from which there was a view of the med.!
Air con worked well. No real problems with noise.

Bathroom was spacious, had a full bath and shower and was also extremely clean.

We took breakfast one morning and it was fairly average, but quite acceptable.

Staff were helpful, courteous and mostly spoke reasonable English.

For the 80 euro a night we paid, this hotel makes for a very good base from which to explore this lovely Spanish city.

This hotel is everything you need- clean, centrally located, and quiet. It's a great value, feels safe, and has all the basics (safe, clean bathrooms, decent beds, etc.)

The staff is friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from 4 days in Tarragona staying at the Hotel Lauria. We booked this hotel online at a great price of £36 a night per room. The hotel is on the main Rambla so in a very good location to get around Tarragona. The room was basic but clean. The maids cleaned the room everyday we were there. We had a room with a veiw of the sea. You also looked straight into other peoples apartments but it was nice to be able to see the sea from our room. Tarragona is a lovely place, there were not many tourists there which was a nice change. Not much English is spoken by the locals but enough to get by.

The cafes and restaurants we tried were all great and very cheap too.
The beach is nice but a little difficult to get too, the best bet is to walk down to the train station and go across the crossing. Would also recomend getting the train into Barcelona, it only took 1 hour 45mins and only cost €9.80 return.

All in all a great 4 days for a great price.

As if it wasn´t the first time we stayed at this hotel is how we felt when we entered at the reception desk. A magnificent entrance with white marble steps is what you first find at the inside. Afterwards we knew that 50 years ago this was a private house and it was reconverted into a hotel. I can´t imagine how the owners lived there... There was even a theatre inside!!
Accomodation was fine with some rooms better than others. specially good the ones that face the beautiful swimming-pool. Wonderful location and kindness of the staff. Decent breakfast. Good japanese restaurant nearby.
The best choice in town!!
