“Port Sitges 2013”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Enjoyed a six night break at Port Sitges with my wife,son,daughter-in-law and grandaughter (aged 2) in early September. The hotel is situated at the Sitges Marina and a 20 minute walk from the resort centre. There are a number of restaurants at the marina but very little else save a small supermarket. The nearest beach is a five minute walk and is used in the main by naturists however at the entrance to the marina there is an alternative beach perhaps more suited to families. The hotel was clean, comfortable and tidy although the furniture in the rooms is a little dated. The apartment type rooms rooms offer fridge, hob etc however we did not make use of the cooking facility and settled for the bed & breakfast option which was quite satisfactory. We ate out each night in both the marina and the town and enjoyed excellent food at reasonable prices. We particularly enjoyed the tapas accommpanied by very acceptable local wines. All in all this hotel is not suitable for families however those looking for a quiet break close to Barcelona ( 40 mins by train) would have both beach and city to choose from.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view but those over looking the pool area would be most popular.

I stayed here with my partner for a few days. The location was a little further than I had expected for the main centre of Sitges- however the staff were really helpful, the rooms spotless and spacious. We both look forward to returning!

We stayed for a week and had a room on 2nd floor on the extreme left side ( all rooms face the Port and sea ....as far as we know ?) which was a really good position.
We would agree that it is a good 3 * .... rather than a 4*...but it was perfectly acceptable, very spacious, well cleaned - daily, with a very good bathroom and comfortable beds. The breakfast was very good and plentiful...with an option to sit outside on the terrace facing the Port/Sea.
All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the lovely Supervisor at breakfast !
There were some negatives...walls are a bit thin between rooms, kitchenettes are only basic and not fully equipped, sunbeds around the pool were uncomfortable and scarce ( but we always got some ! ) but none were broken. The pool is very nice and in a great position...but needed a good clean of the tiles at the water line....although we were not put off swimming in it . Umbrellas around pool were scarce too (only 4) and were broken and need replacing. Lastly , the place does need a spruce up in the rooms and communal areas.....and the sofa bed in our lounge looked a bit tired ! I hope that the Management read this and realise that it wouldn't be too costly to improve these points....with the winter ahead.

As far as location...if the walk into Sitges takes you more than a comfortable 15 mins ...GET FITTER ! Yes ...you do pass the nudist beach below you, but there are a lot of these places nowadays and it should be dealt with...not avoided ! It certainly didn't offend anyone we saw ( or us) and was absolutely packed every day ( only about 50 % were without clothes). The beaches 5 mins further on towards the main town were more family oriented and less crowded. There is also a lovely family beach at the entrance to the Port area only a couple of mins away from the hotel - in the other direction.
There is a large and excellent Carrefour supermarket just 10 mins walk away ( over the railway line/ bridge ).
All in all ..we would DEFINITELY return and had a good experience.

The location is fabulous in the Port - and if the main part of Sitges is not for you there is a nearby beach, little supermarket and plenty of restaurants in the Port itself. If you look at their website there is a little artistic licence used to make it look perhaps a bit swankier than it actual is - there were no dressing gown, slippers, flowers etc. From Barcelona airport we got a 5 euro bus and then a 7 euro taxi to the port, and a train back into Barcelona when we left - easy with no car.
Its a little faded, (not 4* as we thought although it doesn't actually show it as a 4* on its website) but overall our 1 bed room apartment was spacious with comfortable bed, clean fresh bedlinen and towels (these were changed everyday - nice - but think they need to introduce an eco policy as many hotels do these days), fabulous powerful shower with hot water, blackout curtains so we weren't woken by the sunshine!, tv, wifi (a bit hit and miss), aircon (noisy), safety deposit box, balcony (ours overlooked the open bar/restaurant area - there was a singer on at least 3 nights until quite late so opt for different outlook), pool fine - we only used once and was quiet (we loved the Aiguadolc beach around the corner away from Sitges town - sunbeds, umbrellas, life guard, bar, clean).
The thing that they do need to do is sort out the kitchenette area (as many other reviewers have remarked) - ok no one expects to cook a full meal with a kitchenette (do they?), but there was a bunch of mismatch china, random cutlery etc, and a lousy 2 ring hob, it took about 45 minutes to boil water on the stove top kettle just to make a coffee, so even if its just the basics eg. boil an egg or some pasta you will struggle, full fridge but no grill and no electric kettle - we did ask for one given our slow boil option but they couldn't supply. The staff though were helpful.
The breakfast was good - buffet style - with this room being a little more modern than the reception area - it wouldn't take a lot to give the reception a fresh feel. The sofa in the room could do with a fresh cover too.
And a small point if you are going to have 5 flagpoles outside put 5 decent flags up - not 3 tatty ones! Its such a prestigious area in the port things like this make it look a bit drab.
We would stay again though - for the price its very good, we had a peek at a 2 bed apartment and it was extremely spacious. Pack the travel kettle though!!

Room Tip: All the rooms have excellent views but opt for one ideally not overlooking the open air restaurant a...

Had a great family holiday in Sitges. Spacious rooms with fantastic sea and harbour views. Not ideal for self-catering due to lack of equipment. Plenty of good places to eat locally. There were usually loungers available around the pool during our stay.

Everything about the stay was great from the helpfulness of the evening and day staff, to the lovely ambient location, sea views and a good size pool. There are only a few things I would highlight: there were not enough sunbeds by the pool - so if you fancy a day away from the beach - you need to get to the pool early! - unfortunately, many of the sunbeds were broken/cracked in the middle which meant a gingerly climb on them for sunbathing!
I've seen good reviews on the hotel restaurant which note the lack of atmosphere. This is true and a shame, as the restaurant looks great but was often empty.
We were in the Suite and the hotel's website describes this room as having two hot tubs. This is an error. The room has 2 jacuzzi bath tubs in each bathroom. A very mild disappointment, but worth noting if you are intending to book this room type! :) Overall a lovely hotel, no frills (don't expect the kitchenette to be fully equipped), and a great base to explore Sitges and Barcelona.

The hotel needs to step up to meet the standards of a four star hotel. The furniture is old and worn out with stains and holes in the chair covers.
The hotel offers a kitchenette in every room - a nice detail when you are travelling with children. Even though we booked the room for four persons it was only equipped with plates, glasses and chairs for two. The cleaning of the room was so and so. There was no equipment for doing the dishes and the cleaners did not do the dishes.
By the large nice pool there was sunbeds - half of them were broken and needed a change.
Many of the light bulbs were blown.
The wireless internet access is always nice and welcome when staying at a hotel, but with a speed of about 64K we almost could not receive and send emails.
The staff is nice, friendly and very helpful and quite good at speaking English in Spanish standards.
The breakfast was very nice with a good variety of servings.
I would rate this as a nice three star hotel - no more no less.
