“A warm welcoming taste of USA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

I get to Barcelona about once each year, and love the food there, especially the wide variety of tapas, and an occasional overindulgence in foie gras.
To my mind the Spain has so many restaurants with truly great food. Service however, is often in short supply.
Imagine my shock to be greeted immediately, and with a smile each of the times I've stopped by Big Al's. After all, this is Spain, and one should not expect the staff to interrupt their personal conversation every time a customer approaches!
The friendly service continued thru out my meal, prompt, without being cloying or fake.
And they *don't* have to. After all, the food is that good. They could be just one more great restaurant, with indifferent staff, that clings to the high season proceeds while slowly dying off.
Go for the food. It's a great burger, the best I've had in Spain. Try also the pulled pork quesadilla, which is scrumptious. And finish up with any of the assortment of killer cupcakes.
Go for all, or any of those.
Once you have, you'll return, for both the great food, and also the warm friendly service.

Excellent food, great prices, and super-friendly staff. What more could you want?

Come hungry because portions are large.

p.s. They'll put pulled pork in the quesadilla if you ask nicely. DE LISH!

“Texas Boy Approved”

When I met up with friends in Sitges last month, I expected them to be raving about the latest tapas joint for us to hit up. So, you can imagine my skepticism when all the buzz was about a burger joint. I'm in Austin, so burgers aren't what I usually travel for!

Well, rules were made to be broken. This will be my first stop in town next time for some of the biggest and burgers I've ever had. The Big Al with curly fries can stand toe-to-toe with anything back home.

Great food, great service, and clearly a hit with locals and tourists alike. Joe Bob says check it out.

“Best Burger in Spain!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Being from Denver Colorado where there may just be the most burger joints per capita, Big Al's did not disappoint!!!! When traveling eating the local fare is part of emercing yourself in the culture however after a week or so it is nice to find something that reminds you of home. We were lucky and visited Big Al's for lunch when it was not crazy busy. This gave us the opportunity to chat with Big Al during our visit. HE IS GREAT!! We enjoyed a fabulous burger with curly fries & ended with a homemade chocolate & peanut butter cupcake made by Big Al's friend Kate. All ingredients are local & the beef is delivered every morning and fresh ground daily. This joint is super casual (I mean you are at the beach, shorts & flip flops) so don't expect FANCY ;-) but you will get great food with great service!!
