“A 'Weird' Evening...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

We decided to eat at Mezzanine on the last night of our holiday to Sitges. We turned up at 10.30pm and were asked to wait for them to clear a table. The restaurant had only 14 other diners eating inside but we still had to wait over ten minutes to be seated.

After being seated we then waited another ten minutes to be given menus and after ordering, another 15 minutes to receive our first drinks.

However, once the order was placed the food arrived in good time and was superb! The cod was divine and the lamb was perfect! Once the waiting staff had 'overcome' their initial slowness they seemed a little more friendly and chatty too.

I'm a big fan of 'good lighting' in a restaurant and I think well placed lighting really makes a good basis to create a good atmosphere. However, there was one huge, glaring light hanging from the ceiling right above our heads and it made the whole place really 'sterile'.

In essence:

- poor/slow service
- excellent food
- poor atmosphere

Would we re-visit....probably not.

“Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

Friendly and helpfull staff with humour and not stuffy or pretentous but the food is wonderful. Beautifully presented and one is not rushed or bullied into ordering the most expensive items on the Menu - a must place to eat in .....!

“Great food in a cuiet street”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

If you want great food a little bit away from the beachfront and all the partypeople, then go here.

It is nok really cheap, but the food and service is great. If I go to Sitges, I will have to go and eat here again.

“Revisiting an old favourite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Really enjoyed revisiting this restaurant. We sat outside - not the prettiest of streets but a novelty to sit outside, being from Ireland. The food was tasty - spinach salad starter particularly so. My only complaint on the food is that the menu hasn't changed in all the years we've been coming.

“Home-style French food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012 via mobile

We had a very pleasant meal here. We went in August and asked for a table outside, which was busier than inside. The food is traditional rather than innovative but is well executed. I had an entree of vegetables and goats cheese served in a filo parcel with salad and balsamic. The other half had tempura prawns. He had grilled sea bream and ratatouille for main and I had sole and spinach en croute with a lemon sauce. The wine list and overall price were reasonable.
