We booked this a year ago before it had become the #1 restaurant in the world. The restaurant is an architectural beauty. The city of Girona is lovely. The service is friendly and very efficient. Sadly, for us the food was just your typical average fine dining experience and is equally comparable to the other top restaurants in the world. We had the feast menu and added the sucking pig from the classic. Perhaps because it's a long menu, we felt rushed through. The next course is upon you within minutes of finishing the last (and we got there early to ensure we had time to savour it!), waiter introduces it, you pop the mouthful in, chew and it's onto the next. We would have liked a little bit of savouring in between. Also some strange flavours that don't work well together - olives, anchovies and toffee wasn't pleasant. Hoisin + chinese five spice wrapped in toffee and a few other strange ones. There were some gorgeous courses however - cherry and eel, razor clams, the pulsating dessert were great but overall i would say it's not a particularly memorable meal unfortunately for us. It's also very quiet atmosphere, great for quiet conversation.
