Perched high on a hill, skilfully restored in places, wonderful views and great feeling - God gets the best locations.

“great monastery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

A beautiful monestery in a wonderful place. Restored not so long ago, offers the visitor a great example of a medieval monastery.

“A fascinating piece of history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Came across this place whilst walking without initially realising its historical significance - in the end spent an enjoyable and interesting couple of hours here. Useful information available in English. Some of the stairways are steep and narrow and need to mind your head. Worth visiting the nearby medieval village too.

“Beautiful site”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Can't beat ruins above a beach for combining culture and fun. The ride along the curving, twisting road is also a fun experience, best done in a car with power steering!

“one of the most wonderful sea views in my life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

in my opinion, this abandoned monastery is not very interesting in itself as -although reconstructed to its detail in what concerns to walls, roofs, etc, there is not even one remaining painting or object from those years, plus the fact that there are no monks for at least 200 years and it is no more sacre (now, only a museum), makes it -in my opinion- just a collection of rocks and mortar... my suggestion: don't miss the upper "balcony" near the restaurant... the view of the sea from here makes worth even travelling from barcelona only to see this... I suggest visiting in the afternoon so to take advantage of the colours of sunset in the sea.
