“Mixed Feelings”

Hotel Peninsular

Jun 28, 2008

The best thing about this Hotel is its location it is right in the heart of the city. Also the free Internet access is an excellent idea - great for confiming flights and checking tourist info. The staff were plesant and the breakfast OK. Not amazing but you had a wide choice and it was served from 7.30 till 10.30. I went down late one day and you still had plenty to choose from.
The rooms were a good size and very clean. However the beds and pillows were incredibly hard. This must have been the most uncomfortable bed I have EVER slept in - I dont think you would find much difference sleeping on a hard floor. The result was you could only get about 5 hours sleep before walking up aching all over. Please invest in some better beds!!!. Also be aware that some of the rooms are internal facing and while they have good windows you do not have a view and they can be a little dark. This provided a mixed blessing as they are at least very quite and peacfull.

Hi - We stayed here for one night while waiting for a connecting flight from the Girona airport. It's very clean and very quiet, in a great location. I found it a little odd that everything in the room was white, but perhaps that is how they keep it looking clean and updated. Also the beds were terribly uncomfortable - hard as rocks - but after being up for over 24 hours, we were happy to have a place to rest. The staff seems to speak English - enough to check us in, give us a wake up call, and call us a taxi. I would've given it five stars if the beds were comfortable.

“Pleased with our choice”

Hotel Peninsular

Travelling by train, we picked the Peninsular partly on its location, within walking distance of the train station and very close to the older section of Girona. We were very pleased with our choice, not only because the location served our purposes very well, but also because the room was clean, modern, and comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The only aspect I would complain about was early morning street noise (garbage collection), but it was a minor problem. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Beaut hotel”

Hotel Peninsular

Mar 5, 2008

We chose this hotel from Trip Advisor reviews. It is perfectly sited, halfway between Girona station and the old town. Reception was wonderful, very efficent and helpful, even printing out train timetables for us. The room was immaculately clean and the included buffet breakfast quite good though the croissants seemed to be just dough! However the rest of the offerings were fresh and tasty, and the coffee machine produced very good coffee. In a weekend saw far too little and am looking forward to another stay at this hotel.
