“Appealing food, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

We've eaten 3-4 times at Occi and have always had an excellent experience. The service is attentive and always takes care of my gluten-free requirements. The food is quite attractive, creative (asparagus and langostino wrapped in bacon; a big "meatball" stuffed with melting blue cheese and topped with caramelized onions), and tasty. Servings are just the right quantity. And the spiced olives that are served while you wait are addictive. The restaurant and small and fills up early, so call in advance--even on the same day. It's tucked away on a small pedestrian lane, just off the Rambla.

“Tamariu or Girona???”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

The one in Girona is great, unassuming from the outside, but excellent food at good prices and great service.

“Cosy little restaurant serving fabulous food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

This is a delightful little restaurant in the old quarters of Girona. If you want creative Catalan/Spanish cuisine at reasonable prices, then this is the place for you.

I don't remember the names of the dishes we had, however have attached photos. Standouts were the deep fried calamari (a local specialty) in a very very light tempura-like batter accompanied by a sundried tomato paste, and prawn carpaccio with a salad topped with shaved foie gras.

Service was professional, if a little harried - everybody seemed a little stressed.

The restaurant's website now seems different from when I checked it last month before visiting the restaurant, so it could be the owners/chefs have changed. I recall the website, which was available in English then, had mentioned the restaurant was set up by some young chefs, howeve the website now just mentions a team of professionals. Hopefully the food hasn't changed though.

“A jewel of a restaurant in Girona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

A very special find in the the Barri Vell (Old city) just a block from the Rambla, not far from the stone bridge (Pont de Pedra), and facing restaurant Nu. I have eaten at Occi several times and love their cuisine, the wonderful atmosphere, the excellent wine selection and great service. The Veal filet with foie gras is to die for and the chicken canneloni is wonderful but everything I tried was excellent. The maitre-D Victor speaks english very well and is extremely knowledgeable about wines. I have eaten at Nu by the way and like Occi better- better value and a more romantic atmosphere.
Small and cosy so reservations are recommended.
