After a day of Dali it was time to head on to Girona. After arriving to our Bed and Breakfast (See my other review on Bells Oficis to see what that experience was like :-/) the attendant recommended Vinil to us. We did not have much recommendations as Girona was sort of a pit stop on a long journey. We stopped at Vinil and were in for a surprise. The set menu was a value as servings were quite generous. For appetizers we had the mushroom risotto and the meat lasagna. Not the best lasagna I have had, but it was very well prepared. The risotto was a solid hit on flavor. The texture was not what I was used to, but once you bit into it you knew you were in for an experience. For main course I had the tower of wine roasted pork and my girlfriend had the duck breast with mushroom sauce. Both were well prepared and simply delicious. For dessert we had a carrot and chocolate cake and a drunk cake dessert. Made from a local Catalan liqueur, this was our favorite of the evening. The carrot cake was unlike anything I've had before. It was more like a carrot custard. Overall it made for a delightful evening. It was certainly a value for the money and it is a place we are certain to return to on a visit to Girona.
