After finding Sesamo on this website (I tend to use it frequently when travelling!), and after its positive reviews, I decided to give it a go. Being vegetarian in Spain is a real challenge!
I arrived there around 21:30, and the back dining area was full, so next time I go, I will be making a reservation. They accommodated me in the front bar area, so had to sit at a small table with a bar stool. Not their fault by any means, but it was a bit uncomfortable.
Knowing in advance about the seven choice sampler, I opted to order a la carte instead.
I had some lovely, medium red wine to drink, although their signature drink seems to be gin and tonic, made with any gin you'd like. And they have many vegan options as well.
As a starter, I ordered the fried mushroom croquettes. These were simply scrumptious. And with four of them, the portion is satisfying. Very rich flavour, almost like fried porcini balls, the outer shell had the same crispy consistency as falafel. Wonderful.
I ordered the puff pastry parcel for my main. It was light and flaky, with a layer of a light ricotta-like cheese sauce under the lid, followed by a mixture of vegetables, the dominant one being summer squash. It was cooked to perfection, served with a side salad.
I didn't have dessert as I'm not a dessert person. I would recommend this lovely little place to anyone who likes vegetarian food, if you're not a veggie! The staff was friendly and accommodating! All for E21.50. A real deal.
