“Good food and a great atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

This is a lovely small, relaxed, traditional restaurant with a limited menu but great food. No airs and graces, complete contrast to the exspensive very average meal we had on Las Ramblas. Friendly staff, excellent value for money. I would love to go back next time I am in Barcelona.

“Blissful Bodega”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

La Palma is one of the last of the traditional bodegas left in Barcelona. The owner told us that she grew up nearby and has tried to keep it 'as it always was'. We drank fine sherries and vermut on our visit plus plates of traditional hand carved spanish ham. Wonderful !

“Beautiful tapas & environment, just off the beaten track”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2012

Whenever anybody asks where they should go for tapas in the centre of Barcelona (and I hear the question, at least once a week) I send them here to La Palma.

Unfortunately, I dont live in the centre anymore and as such I don't spend anywhere as time as I used to in this establishment.

La Palma is tucked away in a maze of tiny Gothic quarter streets, but literally just three minutes walk from Plaza Sant Jaume and the Catalonian government; so maps out before you go.

It has fantastic traditional decor and the tapas are delicious.
And importantly, because is it just off the drags of C/ Ferran, Pl Sant Jaume & Via Leitana etc... the prices are set accordingly and as such, are generally much cheaper.

Really, if you want traditional good quality tapas in the centre of Barcelona. Shun the tourist traps and their massed produced overpriced nonsense and visit La Palma.

“"Nice Tapas & good drinking Bodega"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

Stumbled across the Bodega La Palma whilst strolling the streets of Barcelona, It looked a very interesting Bar so we decided to refresh ourselves with some tapas and a drink or two!! Very warm welcome from the barman.......A really old traditional feel about the place with some really old giant sherry barrels stacked inside and the decor is obviously very original from the early 1900's or something..........Only a small selection of tapas but they were very tasty.......Well recommended to visit this traditional bodega after a busy day sightseeing to take the weight off your feet to try some nice tapas washed down with a local cerveza or three!!
