Our B&B host suggested this place to us when we asked where we could have some real Spanish Tapas - this is where she takes her family and friends so we gave it a try. On 3 visits - we were the only non-locals in the place. Its a local, neighbourhood bar/restaurant off the beaten path (1 block off via Augusta just above Diagonal - Luis Antunez #7). Not a lot of English spoken, but with our few Catalan phrases and their friendly, helpful attitude, we quickly felt welcome. To emphasize the point - over 8 nights we went there 3 times, one of which was our last evening about 5 nights after our previous vist and the server remembered and offered us our "usual" drinks that we had the first 2 times. The tapas/raciones are not the least expensive we saw in our travels, but the consistently high quality & servicemakes it the best value of any place we visited. We had 4 or 5 tapas with drinks and sometimes coffee each visit and did not spend over 25 euro including our tips. I almost hesitate to share this place for fear it will get over-run by tourists - but discerning Tripadvisor members must give this a try. As you paseo up the Passeig de Gracia - skip the boulevard offerings and find this spot (about 5 mintues up from the McD's that caps the top end of this stroll) - its worth it.
