Description: Awarded a Michelin star in 2008, and named one of the 80 hottest new restaurants in the world by Conde Nast Traveler, Cinc Sentits has created a buzz in Barcelona. Prodigal chef Jordi Artals playful experiments with Catalan tastes, aromas, textures, layers and sensations is cutting edge stuff. He recommends the seasonal Cinc Sentits tasting menu, and letting each course bring a new and exciting sensation to your palate. (Theres also a shorter, quicker version). Youll feast on Iberian suckling pig from Extremadura, deep water prawns from Palams, lamb from the Pyrenees, and veal from Galicia dishes are well described in English. All this, plus professional family-run service in a minimalist setting.

“One of a kind!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2009

If you want an experience far out of the normal try dinner at Cinc Sentis! The tasting menu and the great wine menu that is served along with the great dishes makes the evening something difficult to forget! I have been to several Michelin star restaurants but this is one of the best, with a chef and a staff that really put their best (and their soul) into the food!

Amazing! We were so happy to be able to have dinner there the last night before their long summer vacation!!

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2009

This is a truly outstanding restaurant. The food is creative, precisely cooked and the service was very professional and friendly. It is quite expensive but well worth it, in my opinion. Some reviewers have commented on portion sizes and stingy amounts of wine, but this is in my view unfair. At least I left the place feeling wonderful- just full enough, and slightly tipsy. This was a dining experience I will never forget.

“mind blowing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2009

I thought hard about mind blowing as a header,so 60s,yet there is no other word to describe the food, one goes away with a desire to deconstruct everything in one's own repertoire.Cinc Sentits was the final stop on an amazing gastrotour of Spain and shows everything that is so good about Spanish cuisine at the moment, innovation, exactness, proper use of outstanding ingredients, all the things that used to make French cooking so good. This is sane, healthy, beautiful food.It proves Michel Guerard's dictum that with brilliant tastes we do not need to stuff ourselves to feel satisfied. Each dish may only be two or three mouthfuls but the explosions on the palate are totally fulfilling. As for the wines, try the pinot noir with the red mullet if they have it,unusual but for me it worked.Don't bother going here if you just want to stuff your face, but if you fancy original, compelling flavours and have an open mind, just wow.
For 66 euros you get about 10 amazing courses, overpriced?I don't think so.
Service was charming and effective.

“The Best Meal of My Life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2009

We ate yesterday at Cinq Sentits, and having dined around the world, can rate this as possibly the best meal I have ever had. The service was impeccable, but unpretentious -knowledgeable about the foods and wines, but never cloying. The foie gras was truly spectacular, as was the iberian suckling pig cooked sous vide. The focus on local ingredients cooked to reflect their origins was apparent throughout. The wines were carefully chosen and a perfect accompaniment to the 65 Euro tasting menu. The multilingual staff were able to explain the dishes and wines in perfect English. Given the calibre of the food, the meal was an exceptional value. The michelin star is well earned (and well on a way to a second I would suspect) . I will undoubtedly revisit Cinq Sentits every future trip to Barcelona.

“A very expensive and great disappointment to be skipped...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2009

My wife and I just got back from a one week vacation in Barcelona. I selected this restaurant after reading some of the favorable reviews, but I guess either the favorable reviewers or I went to a different restaurant. I took two of the premier tasting menus with wine pairings, so that if the meal was bad is wouldn't be because of me. The cost is very expensive, which is somewhat understandable because the restaurant does not have many tables, as well as the "complicated" wine pairings as explained by the waiter. The service was amateurish compared to some of the other restaurants we dined at. And the food...ugh the food... was very disappointing. Further, the portions were so small that you could barely get the flavor of what was being presented. I don't think it is appropriate to mention other restaurants in this review, but you can certainly do a lot, lot better, both in food and service, and spend a lot less money. We will certainly skip this restaurant when we return to Barcelona. However, there are three restaurants we will certainly go back to.
