“nice dining experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Delicious, freshly made tapas served with house red wine. truly a unique way to have dinner. we sat down at the bar since there were no spots in the room, but it was a nice experience since we chatted with other guests of the restaurant (and got to taste some of their food :-)..)

“So much fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Yes, the line is long and Yes, lots of tourists as well. But it's worth the wait and hey, you're a tourist as well! Fun wine list with some real old finds at good prices. The best tip I can give: let them advice you but also make clear what you would like to have (you probably have to wait long enough to see what others are eating and enjoying). We spent a lovely afternoon at Cal Pep.

“worth it to wait and line up in front with reservations in the back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

I have been going to Cal Pep for a number of years now and line up at the front and wait just before 12 Noon

we were a large group this time so our hotel was able to book us in for lunch at the back

The Food is amazing and they bring you the tapas as there is no menu. its important before they start to say what you don't like such as fried foods, squid, omelettes or whatever.

then go along for the ride!

the Chef's will choose for you and its all great food and an experience I have never seen anywhere else

Don't miss it but remember subject to your exceptions the food will just appear and quite rapidly

“A line just started to form out of nowhere...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

My husband was standing outside of this restaurant when people started forming a line. He asked why and they said it was a fantastic restaurant and hard to get a table at. So we joined the line and were seated in a small back room as the bar seats filled up fast. We were served what the staff recommends for that day and our waiter accommodated my daughter who does not love seafood. We were not disappointed and chose to stop after the tapas portion. They do prepare main courses if you are still hungry. It was a fun experience and the variety of fresh tapas delicious!

“Great fresh tapas, although a little expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Cal pep came recommended from a friend, and we took the chance to go for lunch. Great concept and really fresh food. The service was attentive and the staff friendly to English speaking tourists like us!! Great atmosphere, and cold beer, which was needed after a long mornings walking!! Only negative was we thought it was a little expensive. Overall would definitely recommend!
