My friend and I recently booked this hotel as part of a flight and hotel package through lastminute.com.
On arrival at the Sunotel Central hotel we were shocked to find that building work was still in progress. Building began at 7am and was extremely noisy. There were building cradles adjacent to our window, permanent noise and no hot water. At the time of booking the hotel was advertised as having a pool and jacuzzi and was one of the reasons we picked the hotel. I have included photos to demonstrate the extent of the building work and lack of pool.
Having looked at the room facilities advertised today on lastminute.com I can confirm that there is no telephone, safe, mini-bar, work desk, Wi-fi or free Internet in the room. The TV was there but not working. The luggage room is the unfinished bathroom in the lobby. There was no toilet available once you have checked out and the breakfast which we were offered as part compensation was not worthy of 14 euros that some people were paying. The restaurant has no stage and there is no business centre, boardroom, meeting room etc.
Due to the problems we encountered we immediately raised concerns with the management. They gave us a letter stating the problems that occurred and honoured a 20% discount to our booking and complimentary breakfast. After 2 days of noise we were told they would book us into another hotel if we preferred. I was informed that all July bookings were refunded in full, and would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel until work is completed. It is absolutely ridiculous that they are accepting guests in these circumstances.
On a more positive note, the hotel foyer is well presented as are the rooms. Reception staff were very helpful given the circumstances and allowed us to use the reception cupboard as our safe. I have no doubt that this hotel has great potential and will be wonderful in the future.
NB There is no wheelchair access or ramps into the hotel should you need them.

we booked into this hotel for my birthday and after reading the review on the company website that stated a rooftop pool with terrace and panoramic views we decided to pay the extra and take this one. i was a little concerned when i couldnt find any descriptions of it but thought with it being 4 star we wouldnt have any probelms. upon arrival we were greeted with the strong smell of paint and work men in the lobby. lots of step ladders and cans of paint. when checking in we were told that the hotel was under going re furbishment and there may be no hot water. ok we said, we could live with that for the day. he told us " im just the receptionist i dont know anything" ok.... we went upstairs only to be greeted by a hall way full of furniture and live wires, we couldnt get in the door as it was brand new. good you may think... not when it would be the only occupied room as none of the others were finished!! no roof top terrace or promised pool. although im sure it will be very nice once done, i think it will take a long time to get up to scratch. there were no safety deposit boxes in the room, the views from any of the rooms are not very nice, no balconys and the breakfast room was tiny. not a 4* hotel. only plus point.. the staff were very helpful.
