“No hesitation in recommending”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2010

Booked well in advance for a better rate but had to pay the full deposit. E-mails answered very promptly. Called from airport and the guy was waiting for us with keys. Entrance is non-descript and can be easily missed. Lift is tiny. We stayed at # 41 on 4th Floor facing Carrer Valencia.
2 Adults and 2 kids. Plenty of space and storage. Views not great but who cares? No major problem with noise from road or neighbours and the AC worked vey well. Kid's room was closer to the lift and the entrance lobby and they had slight problem with neighbours using the lift few times late in the night and talking loudly one night. The main bedroom is far removed with heavy curtains and I slept very well. No problem with hot water at all like the previous poster. Could have done with an electric kettle and one of the ceramic hobs was not working. Reasonably well kept but the shower cubicle could do with some heavy duty cleaning.
One change of sheet & towels in one week stay but no cleaning. Beds comfortable. No safe for your valuables
The area felt safe. Not great for nightlife but excellent for families with loads of eateries including McDonald and Subway if you are stuck.
5 minute walk to Sagrada famila so that you can go early in the morning. Not a single English speaking channel in TV. Reduced to watching Disney channel and repeats of FC Barcelona football matches. The wireless worked smoothly with good connection speed.
Generally speaking we had a very good stay and I won't have any hesitation in recommending this for a familiy vacation.

“Nice apartment but make sure you got hot water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2010

We stayed there for 3 nights. It is close to sagrada familia. Arrived there on a sunday and have to call the hotel reception from the airport. It cost 2 euros to call since it is a mobile. We were told to meet at 1pm at the apartment. It cost around 30-40 euros from airport to this apartment. Got a room on the third floor. The apartment is well equipped, clean and have all the basic necessities that you need. There are two showers. In our apartment there were 1 double bed and two twin beds. The living room is big in general and kitchen has all the utensils needed.. except a wine opener. We had to buy one but it was ok.

After our day trip to city centre on our first night, we got back around 11pm and we all wanted badly to take a shower. There was no hot water. Met Gino the next day. gino is the maintenance guy. Asked him to fix it. He came to look at it and he said he will come back to fix. He never did. Probably went to a siesta. We have to call the reception. We make roaming calls for these calls. Talked to Paco who came to our apartment quickly. He was helpful and gave us another set of keys and asked us to take a shower in another room and promised the shower will be fixed the next day. The next day it was fixed.

Apart from this hot water incident, the apartment in general is good. We even used the washing machine and there was powder provided. The washing has a two hour cycle which is not common in north america. Did not know how to do a quick wash. the tv has a lof of spanish channels. When you are in barcelona, you wont have time to watch tv. so we did not use it that much. Did use it to watch the world cup highlights though.

In brief, good apartment in general and location is excellent.

“Quiet, well situated, comfortable and very well-equipped”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2009

We had a lovely week in these apartments. We had asked for an apartment with a view, on the top floor (so less noise from other guests bearing in mind previous comment about hen parties) with a balcony.
Knowing there were 2 sizes of apartments (75 and 85m) we had booked for 5 though there were 4 travelling, as we thought we would have a larger apartment. However we had one of the smaller ones, at the back, which while it had a great view of SF at night, the rest of the view was domestic rather unlovely windows and washing, and it was too compact for a weeks stay for 4 of us. I asked the next day to change to a larger one at the front, which had a great view of the open street, was much lighter, and boy did those 10 extra m2 make a big difference to the last 5 days of our stay. Big thanks to the staff for allowing us to upgrade (at a small extra charge), otherwise the teenagers would have been grumpy. If we had the larger apartment for the whole week room score above would have been 5
Wifi worked well, beds v comfortable, and fully equipped with coffee machine, oven and hob, microwave, w/machine with tumble dryer, iron and dishwasher- even had w/up liquid and w/powder and d/washer cubes (though take your own rubber suction plug for bath).
Close to metro, lots of restaurants and bars round, quietish area for nightlife, though building works at SF from 9am to 9pm apart from sunday). Fortunately all the other guest were quiet families too.
Checking in and out was extremly straightforward, and they allowed us to leave our luggage after check out time, till we had to leave for airport.
Will stay again next time we visit, though on condition have a front room (ending in1), if we are there for more than a couple of day.

“Nice Apartment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2009

We had a pleasant 3 night stay at MH Sagrada Familia. We were 2 families traveling together and we needed a place large enough to accommodate all of us at a reasonable price. We booked two 2-bedroom apartments directly with MH Apartments. Both apartments were clean, spacious and comfortable. The building was small with 2 units on each floor. MH gave us 2 units on the same floor and the doors were so close to each other it felt like we were in one unit. There was a tiny elevator which could accommodate 4 people at one time. The kitchen was fully equipped and had a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The apartment did not supply bathroom soap or shampoo but provided kitchen cleaning supplies. There was A/C, free internet service and a TV with Spanish channels. The beds were very comfortable. The pictures on the internet looked like the apartments we had.

Upon arrival from Barcelona airport, we called MH Apartment office. We were told we would have to wait at the front of the apartment until someone could get there. The entrance was just a glass door and the MH sign was small. It could easily be missed. Someone arrived with the keys after 15 minutes and led us to our units.

The apartment was 2 blocks from the Sagrada Familia church and Metro station. There were plenty of restaurants close by. There was a supermarket right across the street. It was open until 9 pm but was closed on Sundays. We also found a bakery about 2 blocks away and it was open everyday.

Overall, MH Sagrada Familia was comfortable and conveniently located. It met our needs and I would recommended it to anyone with a family. I would definitely come back if we were in Barcelona again.

“Apartment clean, modern & in good location, however beware of hen parties!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2009

The apartment is in a good location, around the corner is the Sagrada Familia, the metro station and you can also get onto the tour buses there. The apartments are a good size, modern, in good repair and clean. The kitchen is well equipped, there was even washing powder and dishwasher tablets for the appliances.
The only negative we experienced was that for 2 nights of the stay there was a hen party staying next door and we were disturbed at night (we stayed 4 nights in total). As we had young children this was problematic however this is the only fault I could find!
