My wife and I wondered into this hotel just because it looked inviting. We found the staff to be helpful and the rates to be very reasonable considering the city area and the ambiance of the entrance/lobby. Super cool atmosphere with a beautiful terrace at the top of the hotel. My wife and I love the atmosphere and the staff. It can be pricey but check for great rates during the week or during low periods. Well worth the effort to check!

We just finished our four night stay and we loved it. The restaurant downstairs was top notch. My wife and I fell in love with the duck confit! It is only one block away from the metro which was very convenient for us and it was only one stop away from the espanya metro stop and three stops away from the las ramblas. It was close enough to all the major attractions yet far enough away from the noise. We had a room on the fourth floor facing the street and aside from street traffic the room was very quiet. While the room was smaller than what we were it used to, it was still big enough for the two of us and we found it to be very clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We purchased some fruit to eat late at night and the staff was kind enough to give us a plate and utensils whenever we needed it.

We spent 2 nights at Villa Emilia and loved this small, boutique hotel. After landing at the airport, we were able to inexpensively take the Aerobus to a stop just a short walk from the hotel. After checking-in in the fashionable lobby / bar area and dropping our bags off in our spacious and impeccably designed room, we made our way to the rooftop bar for a cozy view of the surrounding neighborhood. We were impressed with everything we had experienced thus far. The hotel is conveniently located just one block away from the subway system that whisked us to wherever we wanted to go around the city. My feeling is that if the hotel was located along the main drag of the city (Las Ramblas), the hotel could easily charge 3xs the amount we paid for the room. Public transportation is so convenient to Villa Emilia however that I gladly took the subway for 2 stops to get to Las Ramblas in exchange for the great rate we had. Staying any closer to that area and paying the higher rates is just not worth it when you have Villa Emilia.. After spending the day out and about, it was a pleasure to return to the beautifully appointed bar area, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bustling street area, to enjoy a reasonably priced cocktail and app from the bar before heading back out for dinner. A+ hotel, one that I recommend to friends and family and one that I hope to return to again.

This is a loverly hotel, in a good location for a stay in Barcelona. The nearest metro station is only about a couple of minutes away. It is also well placed for walking to local attractions.
The staff were always really friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy.
The terrace bar is a nice place to relax with a drink.
We will definately be returning to Barcelona, and will stay at the Villa Emelia when we do.
Tip: When you visit The Sagarda Familia, you can get tickets from ATM machines, this will save waiting to queue when you arrive.

We spent 3 nights here over Easter weekend and loved it. The reception/bar area is stylish and the drinks are reasonably priced. The reception and bar/waiting staff are lovely and the rooms are comfortable with nice furnishings. Our room was particularly nice as it was at the front of the hotel and had patio door style windows that opened fully. The other couple in our party were on the other side of the hotel, the room was identical but their view and window wasn't as nice. The rooftop bar is lovely in the sunshine and I can recommend a glass of cava to sip in the sunshine.

The hotel is close to the metro but most main attractions are easily walkable. We had a great time in Barcelona and will definitely stay at villa Emilia again when we return.

An intimate and friendly place near Plaza Espana, with very helpful staff. Decor is imaginative with jazz in the stylish bar/restaurant. Very clean and fresh. Only issue was had to wait for air conditioning to be switched on.

We loved this small boutique hotel with its very friendly staff. Great location whether you are heading out to explore by foot, metro or bus. Also a quick trip to the train station. The food in the restaurant was great. We enjoyed both morning breakfasts and dinner one evening. Hope we can get back here someday.

Room Tip: We were in Room 24 facing the street and it was just fine.

We were so pleased to hear about your wonderful experience at the Hotel Villa Emilia. We thank you for sharing your opinion with other travellers as it will undoubtedly be very useful to them, especially concerning the meals at the Zinc Bar, your comments about our staff and the great location of the hotel. We hope you can come back and see us again soon and do some more exploring of Barcelona and Catalonia! We're only a hop, skip, and a jump to Sants-Estació, where you can always grab a train to other beautiful places in our "pais petit." Enjoy the spring and do receive a warm embrace from all of us here at Villa Emilia!
