“Fairly good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Visited in May and stayed in one of the larger rooms with a balcony.

No real issues - I think there are only four rooms with balconies - two at the back and two at the front - bear in mind the ones at the back overlook a kind of municipal play area which gets very noisy in the afternoon and the ones at the front overlook the main road. No real wonderful views of Barcelona but they are nice to have to laze on.

Wifi generally good but didn't seem to work at all on the roof

Roof area quite nice - tiny pool but nice nonetheless

Breakfast if you can get it cheap is OK - pay full price for it then don't bother as plenty of cheaper places close by

Well located and you can walk to most 'touristy' things within half an hour. Handy for metro (as always would help if hotels indicated which exit to leave the metro on to get to their establishments!

Staff on reception fine and friendly. Breakfast staff show no interest in customers at all other then checking your room number and are more happy to just chat to themselves.

Standard lack of UK tv - I think most of Europe hate the UK as they have several channels for virtually every other country .. but I guess I shouldn't go on holiday just to watch Eastenders

Would stay here again - but book plenty in advance to secure a good deal

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights after going to the FIB Festival in Benicasim.
It was a very trendy and modern hotel with very very helpful staff, Alessandra was brilliant and helped us with any information we needed and more.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded on arrival, to a superior room, which was an absolute delight after camping for 8 days in a boiling hot tent!
Our room was immaculate, with a huge bed, TV, and lovely private terrace overlooking Gran Via. Spotlessly clean, with great shower/bath and the mood lighting was a hit with my fella. I couldn't have asked for more.
The roof terrace was lovely and the pool was great to cool off in. We didn't eat in the hotel as its a stones throw from many café/restaurants, so cant comment on food.
There was a gorgeous patisserie directly opposite hotel, which had amazing cakes and pastries. Well worth a visit!
The location of the Soho couldn't have been better. Its a short walk to Las Ramblas, and everything is easy to get to, whether its using the metro or on foot if you like to have a stroll.
I would stay here again without hesitation, its the funkiest and trendiest hotel I have stayed in, you wont be disappointed. Thank you Soho!

Room Tip: If you want a treat, book a Superior room. You wont be disappointed :)

Is this really a 3-star hotel? Swish design and decor, really helpful staff, and quirky rooms (shower blind, different lighting options).

Well located around 10 minutes walk away from La Rambla, just a straight walk along Gran Via. We had a classic room on the 4th floor facing Gran Via but didn't have any trouble with street noise whatsoever.

A special shout out to Alessio on reception who recommended to us a local, non-touristy restaurant to go to for dinner (La Clara) - we had an awesome meal there, thanks!

I'd definitely come back here. Cheers Soho!

Room Tip: No trouble with street noise at the front on the fourth floor.

Lovely hotel with big clean rooms and comfy beds. The staff are friendly and helpful and eager to offer advice on where to eat etc. The pool on the roof is a lovely extra but it is small. Brilliant location - really close to urgell metro station so it's really easy to get around.

Would definitely recommend escriba, the patisserie across the road for breakfast or coffee and a cake in the afternoon.

Would definitely stay here again x

Overall this is a great hotel. The rooms are large, comfy and quiet, with near-silent but efficient air-con. If you have an outward facing room the view is mostly of the street below and the windows are partly frosted - more for letting in light than looking out of. The location is handy for La Rambla (about a 10 minute walk) and the metro. The rooftop pool and lounge area is great for relaxing in although the sunloungers, armchairs, and sofas do fill up at times. The whole area was clean and spacious. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the receptionists were always ready with a smile and made the stay that bit more enjoyable. Free wifi in the rooms which worked great, although it didn't extend to the rooftop pool area, which would have been nice.

Something to bear in mind if you are travelling with a friend rather than partner - you didn't seem to be able to select whether you got a twin or a double room and the shower has a glass wall to the rest of the room!!

Breakfast is extortionately expensive, don't eat in the hotel! Instead, come out of the hotel and turn left, about 20 meters down you'll find a small cafe doing coffee & croissant for €1.50, as well as baguettes, muffins, and fresh juice all similarly cheap.

We used one of their pre-pay special deals which knocked the price down considerably and made it great value for money. At full price, it's probably about average.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and I had done a lot of research so I was expecting a great hotel. The hotel is in a great location-about a ten minute walk from the centre of the city. It is also within walking distance of the bus stop for the airport so you're not dragging your luggage along for too long.
The receptionists are lovely however on arrival our room was not ready which was a little bit frustrating.
The room itself is lovely, very clean and really comfortable beds!! We were not disturbed by any noise from outside.
The pool upstairs is lovely and relaxing but the views are not very impressive!
Breakfast was lovely but there are a lot of cafes near the hotel if you would prefer not to pay the extra money..
The hair-dryer isn't very powerful so I would advise to pack your own if you have the room. There are no tea making facilities and very little privacy in the shower!!
Over all a very pleasant stay.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing to stay at Soho Hotel Barcelona during your stay in Barcelona.

The staff work hard to provide outstanding service to guests and it’s great to read that this was your experience! The check in start at 2 pm, sometimes it’s not possible to give the rooms before this time though a lot of our guests arrive from a long trip.

We really appreciate you taking the time to post a review on Trip Advisor, we look forward to hosting your next stay!

With kind regards,

Reception Staff

We were greeted with a super friendly receptionist who spoke excellent english - woo hooh! Lovely little pool on the top floor and nice chill out area. Although its a small area, it's a nice place to have a break.
10 min walk to the ramblas and 2 min walk to local metro.
Super funky, clean rooms. There was building work during mon-fri next to our room which was noisy, but we can sleep through loud noises so didn't bother us.
Must visit chocolateria across the road from the hotel, escriba. Divine hot chocolate drinks and cakes to choose from!
All staff were professional and friendly. They ask you to hand your room key on when you leave the hotel, which I recommend doing. It gives you peace of mind in a city which is known for pickpockets.
