“Great location, lovely guesthouse.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

My friends and I stayed 4 nights here in July. Its location is great, it is a small street coming off Las Ramblas so it is very easy to get everywhere. A bit noisy at night but we hardly noticed! Rooms were lovely and clean and great air con as it was so hot when we were there! Owner was very helpful showing us where to visit and eat nearby!! We had breakfast included which was lovely and served in a really nice room and balcony upstairs! definitely recommend it to people wanting a nice relaxed place to stay in the heart of busy Barcelona!

Room Tip: We had a room facing onto the street, great little balcony but some people could find it a bit loud!

I am not writing a review to add anything to the excellent reviews I read before going to Vrabac, just to say a special thanks to Nicolas and his staff. My boyfrient and I wnet there twice and will definitely go back there, when we get back to Barcelona. Hasta pronto!

The Vrabac Guesthouse is in a very good location. When we first arrived into Barcelona we got the Aerobus to Placa de Catalunya and had a 5 minute walk down La Ramblas before arriving at the door. It was also a good location for our activities during our time in Barcelona as it is near meeting points for walking tours and the metro for going to see the magic fountain.

The main area in Vrabac, where the office and breakfast area is, is on the third floor (with a number 1 outside the door) so, as others have mentioned before, be aware there are a few stairs to climb! The main area itself is very peaceful with candles and incense burning frequently Breakfast was great with lots of variety - bread, meat, cheese, cereal, fruit etc.

On checking in we were given a map of the local area and recommendations for places to eat and places to visit. We were then shown to our room on the floor above (more stairs). We were able to swap rooms after 2 nights to a bigger Basic Double room en suite once it became available. The smaller room was still very good - The shower was inside the room behind a curtain, the sink was in the main room and the toilet was in its own room as usual. The larger room had slightly better decoration (exposed stone wall) and also had an extra table and chair. All the en suite facilities were behind a sliding door in the larger room. The rooms both had air conditioning, a hair dryer, towels, wifi, tea/coffee facilities and drinking water. The towels provided differed between the rooms. We got big bath sheets in the smaller room but much smaller towels in the larger room!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We found the staff helpful (although we only saw them at breakfast and check in/check out) and the location was perfect for our needs.

This guest house is situated in the Gothic area right near La Rambla and within walking distance of the Mediteranean Sea, Barcelonetta and Catalunya Square - perfect for tourists.
When we arrived we found we had been mistakenly booked into a double room despite our booking a twin room. One of us was given another room on another level and found it very small, dark and claustrophobic. The following day we were given the luxury suite - which was lovely. It was very noisy but that is to be expected and we were fine with that. The breakfast room was lovely and the range of food options was great.
When we came to pay our account we found they did not accept cards and we had to go out and get cash from a machine. Its the first time I have found cards not accepted and I feel it was a very poor practice. They said it stated that on the website, but we didn't see that.

Nice & small Guesthouse, more looking like a boutique hotel than a guesthouse
Each room with its own design, our was facing a little courtyard, so that it was very quiet there and could sleep with open windows
the owner (Nicolas) is very nice and take great care of the guests, indicating nice places to eat
location is very convenient to visit the old city, and easy to reach from the airport (direct VIP buses)

Room Tip: we had the luxury room (en suite), I think it is the largest and nicest of all

It looks amazing, feels peaceful and you cant get more central than this.
Great breakfast, but wifi didnt work and the showerhead of the communal bathroom was broken off.
It is a seven stairs climb, no problem for us, but if you're not up for that choose an other b&b. Also our window was on a busy shopping street so from early in the morning ( streetcleaners ) to late at night (pubcrawlers) you'll have noise. Ofcourse you're in central barcelona so it is what you can expect but again if you're looking for quiet dont stay near the ramblas.

Room Tip: dont choose this b&b if you dont want to walk 7 stairs

My husband and I were on a European trip and had just come from a fancy hotel in Paris. We weren't very familiar with Barcelona, and since we booked on a hostel site, we weren't sure what to expect with Vrabac Guesthouse.
When we arrived the airport, we took the Aerobus to Plaza Catalyana. It was about a 5 minute walk to the guesthouse. A little difficult to find at first, as Barcelona's streets are like mazes. Once we found it, it felt really comfortable to be in. The person who checked us in was very nice and helpful, providing a map and giving us information on different popular locations. Our room was on the 2nd floor, with no elevator. There are also no toiletries provided, so remember to bring your own!
What they do have is an amazing breakfast. The community room is so beautiful and comfortable, and they provide breakfast from 9-11am. The food was so good; cheeses, meats, bread, juice, cereal, etc.
For a really comfortable stay in Barcelona, I would recommend Vrabac to anyone. Located on Las Ramblas, where all the tourists are, you definitely don't feel like it when you're in here.

Room Tip: On hostelworld.com, we chose the room with a private bathroom. The best room, large bathroom and qui...
