Visited BCN to celebrate my mums 50th. Lovely hotel in an excellent location, within walking distance of all the amenities yet still quiet enough down a back street, so you are away from the hustle and bustle at night. The rooms are extremely well appointed with a great range of toiletries. The beds and pillows are also very comfy which ensure a good nights sleep! Breakfast was €18 each and of a good quality, cooked breakfasts are freshly done to order, the orange juice is fresh and so is the bread/croissants they provide. However, it is priced quite steeply for what you get, and literally as soon as you step out of the hotel, there is a wealth of cheaper but just as nice breakfast options. We found 'Chocolate Box' right next door to be great however it all depends on what you're looking for.
The only thing which let this hotel down was, despite booking interconnecting rooms months ago and our travel agent ringing up a week prior to our arrival to check, on arrival they initially said they couldn't provide this. When we expressed our discontent, the receptionist sorted it for us in an efficient manner however we had to change rooms 2 nights into our 6 night stay which was a bit of a hassle. Our second interconnecting rooms 303/304 were great however, there was a cupboard inbetween the rooms that emitted a very nasty smell, I think it may have been a septic tank, if the door was shut which wasn't very pleasant especially in the heat!
