“The most unwelcome we have ever received”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

We booked this hotel for its convenient location but would never stay there again after the extremely poor reception we received when we went to check in. We were more than three hours early but as we had requested an early check when we booked we had hoped if our room was not ready we might get a time as to when we could check in. We had travelled for 24 hours direct from Australia is were pretty tired. The man at the front desk was extremely rude and refused to help us. We had a return visit to Barcelona and made sure we didn't make the same mistake of staying here again. Although the hotel is ok and the rest of the staff pleasant this one person spoiled our stay. On top of that when we did get our room later in the day there was rubbish still in the bin.

Room Tip: Rooms small. Don't expect to have special requests considered favourably.

Dear Guest,
We are not very happy reading your comments and we think it is not fair, the ratingy you gave us due that as you pointed your stay was pleasant.
We very much regrett that we could check you in befor 14h due that the date of your arrival the guest they all left at 12. And as you were requesting a king size bed was even more complicated to host you in advance.
Believe us that we allways try to do our best checkin in the guests in advance.
If you were arriving very early the secure way of having the room at your arrival was paying the night before.
I have also check with housekeeping Manager about you comment about the bin, and no incidence was noticed by you during your stay.
We very much regret to know that we didn't do it, and believe us that we work hard in order to please our guest.
Yours faithfully
Alex Vilallonga

We stayed here in 2012 for a couple of nights as our second date. We're still together now and look back fondly of our time spent in Barcelona.
The rooms were modern and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Good location, although we had some troubles finding our way back on foot after a vino or two. There were a good selection of restaurants nearby and Las Ramblas was within easy walking distance.

We stayed here post cruise for three days. It's a small hotel located in the Gothic area. A short walk to Las Ramblas, but far enough away to be quiet. True to its name right near the cathedral. Very clean, nice breakfast (reserve with breakfast included). Good shower, good bed. Only negative- crummy view of neighbors laundry. Nice rooftop pool. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is situated in the old city center near the cathedral.

We have stayed in superior room that was surprisingly spacious for a city hotel. The bathroom also was more spacious than I expected. This made our stay all the more pleasant. Although situated in the old city center, the neighborhood isn’t noisy.

Breakfast isn’t cheap. I suppose there are numerous places nearby where you can enjoy breakfast, we’ve opted to have our breakfast in the hotel, and we weren’t disappointed. You can choose from a a la carte menu, and an assortment of pastry and other sweet treats. The atmosphere in the restaurant and on the outside terrace is very nice.

We didn’t use other facilities like the pool. We went to have a look though, just to see what it looked like. It was a pool on a rooftop, with some chairs; nothing fancy, if you want to soak up some sun this is as good a place as any I suppose.

The hotel has a free wifi connection throughout the hotel, which is as it should be. During our stay there were some issues with the connection. Just a small blemish, but nevertheless quit annoying sometimes.

Overall we have had a very nice stay in this hotel, and would consider returning here when coming back to Barcelona again.

Room Tip: Superior room are situated on the corners of every floor. They are very spacious and have 2 big wind...

We stayed here for just one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. It's in a lovely location near the Cathedral (obviously!) and Las Ramblas, but in a mostly pedestrianised area (which means it's quiet). The room was delightful - excellent shower and very comfortable bed. We didn't have breakfast, as we had an early start the next day. But the service was very good and I'd highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a central location in Barcelona.

Good choice small hotel in ideal location in Gothic centre close to Cathedral so easy to find way home; comfortable room; staff very helpful with information in English; Wed night guided tour of the area with local stories very well done. Only hiccup as solo traveller was the kitchen shutting at 5.30 even for bar food or room service so missed out when returning home late and expecting some food. Would know this next time.

The hotel is located in the Gothic centre, around the corner from the Catedral (not to be confused with the Sagrada la Familia). It's about 5 mins walk from La Ramblas and 5 mins in the other direction to Passeig de Gracia i.e it's pretty central and near a number of tourist attractions.

The area around the hotel is safe and within a 5 minute radius you have a number of restaurants, including Shunka and Koy Shunka, both highly recommended if you're wanting Japanese food in Barcelona.

Hotel staff were very friendly and promptly responded to the e-mails that were sent. Babysitting facilities are available if advanced warning if given and we had a lovely little cot set out for our little one. Other little things matter: an umbrella's available if the weather's not following the script, there's information on the city available at the front desk and taxis arrive within 5 minutes of a call from the concierge.

Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable; what you'd expect in a 4-star hotel. There's a small pool at the rooftop if you've got a spare moment. Can't comment on dining options as the restaurant was closed on the Monday night when we tried to get some food (probably the only negative point of the whole trip).

Dear Guest,
We would like to thank you for your comments.
We are very pleased to know that you rated us as a maximun, and we feel very good to know it, because it means that our work has been done propertly.
We would be very pleased to inform you that our restaurant is closed at night time due that of the majority of our guests prefer to walk around and dinner some tapas in the surroundings, and we offer to our guests our room service or a sandwich carte at the bar.
We hope we will be able of welcoming in your next trip to Barcelona.
