We stayed at the Hotel Barcelona Catedral for 4 nights in early February.
The main draw of the hotel is its location, right next to Placa Catedral in the old Barri Gotic.
The hotel is a new building. The rooms are nice but very small (there is not even a chair to sit on apart from the one at the writing desk). The bathroom is proportionately to the room quite big. The shower is excellent. The rooms are reasonably soundproof. However, in our room, situated on the 3rd floor on the streetside, we were woken up by rowdy revellers in the middle of the night from down below on the street. When we checked into the hotel we had asked for a room on the internal patio but were told that they had all been booked already.
There is a nice small pool on the roofdeck but we could not use it as it is not heated.
We also didn't take the hotel buffet breakfast as we had read in reviews from other travellers that it is not worth its cost. There are however plenty of excellent Catalan and Spanish breakfast availabilities in the immediate neighbourhood.
Service was really good, especially from the staff at the reception which were really very kind and helpful.
