Wonderful hotel - LOVED the free Internet in the lobby! Everyone we encountered spoke great english, the service was great and the rooms were wonderful. It's very central to many locations and I particularly loved the close proximaty and walk to Starbucks for my morning coffee addiction! There is a currency exchange right around the corner (if needed) and I felt it was the perfect location for our pre-cruise getaway. I loved the breakfast in the morning (I'd say the price was expensive but if you look around it's average for any European hotel) and my extended family that shared a triple room thought the accomadations were great!!

My only small complaint? The location of the hotel indimidates the taxi drivers (who don't speak English) and they don't want to drop you at the hotel door as it sits on a small side street - I had to drag two suitcases and my 12 year old daughter along a plaza full of people to the hotel entrance. If I could do it all over again - I would pay the little extra money and have the hotel pick us up just to avoid the confusion and the stress of dealing with a cab driver.

Overall I would definitely recommend staying here!

The room we had for three people was big in comparison to other Europe hotel rooms. Our room even had an additional sofa and center table. The bathroom was luxurious and spacious. The hotel is on a side street though and returning to the hotel at night was of concern to all of us. There is another hotel on the opposite side of the plaza that is better situated. Also, Hotel Barcelona Catedral does not have an attractive lobby where one can rest after walking in the area. This hotel also charged us a full continental breakfast (18 euros) when my son was only able to drink a glass of juice because his scheduled tour was leaving. Even though my husband cancelled the order and explained the situation, he was still charged for a full meal. I would also like to mention that the room rate we paid was of 230 euros per night.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference. Overall, it was a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, spoke perfect english, and met all of my needs. The room was clean, and included a very nice bathroom, large TV, and plenty of extras. The only downside was the hardness of the bed, which others had noted on tripadvisor. The bed is very hard, but I was so tired from the time difference, I slept just fine. The location is perfect. You are very close to the Cathedral and square and there is a lot happening. Bring earplugs if there is a holiday or event happening late night on the square. I was there during a holiday and fireworks were going on until about 1:00 AM. Overall, a great place to stay, and I would highly recommend.
