Great modern hotel, with fairly good access to public transportation. The rooms including bathrooms are excellent, and the staff is friendly.

My husband and I stayed at Vincci for 5 days on our recent trip. We were a little anxious about how this hotel would turn out to be - and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

The building is a new, modern construction with a classy lobby. The receptionist speaks English and was very helpful. The room itself was very tastefully decorated.

The bathroom (very important) was really clean, well designed and inviting.

This hotel is very close to the Ramblas - a 5 min ride by Metro. And the Metro station itself is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Very safe to walk around at night.

It was a throughly enjoyable stay, and we'd definitely go back the next time we visit!

“Great time at the Vincci Arena”

Vincci Arena Hotel

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Vincci Arena Barcelona. (7th - 11th October 2007). All in all we have nothing but good reports for this hotel.

Its very modern, good sized rooms overall. We were located on the 6th floor directly opposite the elevator which we thought might have created lots of noise but quite the opposite...very peaceful. We had a double room which was really two single beds joined together but it was ok. The only complaint we had was the heating in the rooms. Without the air conditioning on we were nearly roasted alive as the windows wouldn't open. However with the air conditioning on it was way too cold.

Wardrobe space etc was good, TV only had one English speaking channel. This wasn't a huge concern to us as we were not spending lots of time in the hotel.

Breakfast is available from 7am till 10.30 am and is 15 euros per person. We didnt have breakfast in the hotel during our stay as to be honest you can get brekkie for far cheaper in any of the small cafes near to the hotel.

The hotel itself is located near to Place Espagna where you can catch the Tourist Bus around Barcelona and also the underground. We had a 2 day tourist pass which was great as you can hop on and hop off the bus wherever you like on any of the 2 routes available. Only down side to this is that these buses get very busy and you have to queue at each of the attractions to get back on the bus....this can take quite a while at peak times.

For us the location of the hotel was fine however I can understand that some people may find it a bit out of the way. Maybe about 15 minutes to Las Ramblas. Its sometimes nice to see other areas and there were nice little markets on at night near the hotel so it was nice to see other goings on other than in the "tourist zone".

Plenty little supermarket shops nearby too if you want to stock up on water, juices etc.

All in all a really nice stay at this hotel, would definitely come here again.

“A great stay”

Vincci Arena Hotel

Oct 11, 2007

I took my girfield here for two nights to celebrate her birthday and we had a great stay. We arrived at the hotel at 11.30am on a Sunday morning and were delighted to find that our room was already available for us - very pleasing after an early flight from London. The check in staff at the hotel were exterely helpul and always smiled a gave a passing 'hello' when passing through the reception area. For the duration of our stay the hotel did seem to be a little quiet (i.e. we never saw anyone in the hotel bar).

The rooms at the hotel are funrinshed in a contemporary style and very comfortable incorporating mood lighting, a giant bed, LCD tv and a luxurious bathroom. Items from the mini-bar were also reasonably priced. Note there are no coffee or tea making facilities available.

The hotel is located very close to the metro (nearest stop Tarragona - approximately 200m away) meaning that the hotel can be reached by train from the airport in less than 30 minutes. The journey is also much chepaer than taking a taxi.

On our first afternoon at the hotel we used the spa facilities located in the basement - which were brand new and seemingly somewhat under used - we had the sauna and steam room to ourselves.

Yes - the hotel is located a little away from the main strip of 'Las Ramblas' but for us this was a bonus. The public transport facilities are so good in Barcelona it is easy to get anywhere in just a few minutes. When we return to Barcelona we will definately stay here again. All in all a great stay.

Modern decor. Clean room but little small. Hardwood floors. Hard bed but soft pillow. Gave lots of toiletries - bath sponge, cotton, cotton swabs, shampoo, bodywash, soap, toothbrush, etc - replenished daily except for last day. water pressure was great and the bath towels were not bad at all. there is a minibar/fridge which has room for your own water/snacks and the prices weren't all that expensive. room safe is not free though. local telephone calls were cheap but not the internet (5min walk from the hotel was an internet/phone place that charged 50cents for 10mins). we didn't have a problem with noise but could be because our room was overlooking the back of the hotel. i like the courtyard.. they fixed it nicely eventhough there isnt really a view and you could eat out there. however, we didnt eat at hotel restaurant, only coffee - noticed though that service during off-peak hours is slow. the front desk was helpful but can't say anything about room service as we did not use it. the metro stop is 2 blocks away although the main line that takes you from/to airport is several blocks away. we did take the train in and walked with our luggage - wasn't bad at all. our taxi fare to the airport cost 25 euros and the train was 5 euros/person one way.

overall, we were really comfortable at the hotel. i would stay there again.
