“Historical Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

This little "plaza", hidden in the Barri Gòtic (Gothic District) is a little jewel: it has the church of sant Felip and the fountain in the middle. it is usually a quiet place, but there are some bars and restaurants around it, as the area has become some sort of hip zone. On the façade of the church you can still see the marks of shooting and bombs of the Spanish Civil War.

“Absolute silence, broken by the splash of a fountain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

I love this square because it is so hard to find. Hidden away in a knot of streets and alleyways which so well characterises the Barrio Gotic, it also reveals some of the scars from the Civil War. we can also find here the museo de Calçat Antic (the ‘old shoe-maker’s museum’), a small baroque church, a convent, the hotel Neri H&R, with a bar and some tables, and in the centre just a fountain in the shade of two acacia trees.
Also, for those who read The Shadow of the wind, this little square plays quite an important role.
It is indeed a rather sad place, but I will let the reader investigate why...

“A not so populat spot that is very nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The small chruch in this plaza is wonderfull. The work inside and outside this church is great.

When you walk in the Gotic Area of the City you have to visit this Plaza and Chruch.

Old buildings around enclosed plaza with fountain just steps away from old city center and cathedral. Be sure to have guide to all the old city sites to not miss

“Tranquility......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

Read the history before visiting. Peaceful and beautiful square which takes some finding. Go up the right hand side of the cathedral and its hidden on the right this is the easiest way . Took some finding even with a map . It's like you have left Barcelona behind and stepped into a time warp it'd weird but beautiful , with a sad history.
