5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Visiting my son who is at university in Barcelona I cannot recommend more highly this hotel .
From the time I arrived nothing was too much trouble the staff are all amazing especially Saul the manager who made our stay so special .
The sky bar and the breakfast buffet were highlights for my son for me the incredible room with every detail thought of and the sublime massage on the 2nd day after walking for miles !
Thank you again to Saul and I will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel .

Room Tip: 7th floor suite sublime

Very modern, luxurious and comfortable rooms. Hotel is brilliantly situated for the Old City. Easy walk to La Rambla, the seafront and the stop for the tourist bus.

Sky Terrace has a great view over the city - perfect for a sundowner! We were on the 7th floor, traffic noise was noticeable, but not intrusive.

We're looking forward to going again.

A well situated hotel within walking distance of the Cathedral, very close to red tour bus stop, and within walking distance of Ramblas, amongst other attractions. More than enough good restaurants and tapas bars within walking distance.
The hotel itself is well appointed, very comfortable, and with the benefit of a roof-top pool, but the icing on the cake is the very helpful, welcoming, and friendly staff, who genuinely want to do their best for you. My wife had reason to complain about a breakfast item, but the issue was resolved very quickly and with an appropriate apology, and was not repeated.
Our room faced the side street, and we always got a good nights sleep.
Would have no hesitation in booking again.

The room we booked was totally unsuitable for our needs. Quite small, claustrophobic with very little privacy using the bathroom. Our fault completely. We decided to upgrade for a larger room with better facilities. Unfortunately the hotel was full and we had to wait a few days for this to happen. In the meantime we changed rooms in the early hours of the following morning and were given room 101, yes,101! This room looks overlooks a playground we realised in daylight....my worst nightmare. After three days at last we were in a much better room back on floor five. It was adequate and quiet. The view not particularly picturesque. I would say it needed some remedial cleaning in the bathroom because the tiles were discoloured around the shower. Pink on the grouting denotes body fat, someone else's! Also the shower controls were broken. This was fixed by maintenance after a few hours. But at last we could unpack for our weeks holiday. Now to the rooftop deck/bar/pool. We found the staff to be superb, the availability of loungers or seating areas sporadic. We did actually witness two men who had two loungers, and two seating areas, one in shade, one in sun, just for themselves when it was clear that other guests were trying to find somewhere to sunbathe.......unbelievable! Another couple, no nationality mentioned, left their two loungers for a few hours, to do what I do not know, but returned and demanded the loungers back from another couple. Unbelievable once more. More unbelievable they gave them back. Do they own said loungers? This should be controlled by rooftop staff in my opinion. Maybe a system could be introduced to stop people taking the sunbeds all day when they aren't even present. The worst thing at the pool is the amount of people who smoke. In particular a man next to our seating area had a cigar that took three hours to finish, I swear I was dying of smoke inhalation! Why can't it be a no smoking zone during the day? The buffet breakfast, even though it's not my thing, was of good standard with plenty of choice. The strawberry yogurt and fruit salad are delicious! My only gripe would be as a lacto vegetarian, the scrambled eggs are in the same heated canopy as the bacon so it was a no no for me. I would suggest having them separate as are the fried eggs. Once again staff in the breakfast restaurant are superb. There is a sign which says "wait to be seated" but on one occasion, again no nationality mentioned, my hubby and I were first in line to be seated by a lovely young lady, when an elderly woman looking like Miss Marple, pushed me, quite forcefully, out of the way to get to the window table she so desired. We were actually then seated next to them and did feel sorry for her because she started choking on her breakfast. For a moment I thought I'd have to administer a life saving anti choking manoeuvre. The tables are very close together and it's not really conducive to eating your breakfast when someone of large proportions has to squeeze their derrière past your table...ugh! Dinner in the same restaurant is to be recommended, not so busy as is breakfast with quite a substantial menu. My overall impression was that the staff are the best thing about this hotel. Extremely polite, helpful and enthusiastic. Would I say this was a five star hotel no I would not. Would I return possibly.

Room Tip: As other guests have commented it's better to reserve rooms on higher floors if you're sensi...

Lovely staff. From the bellman to the front desk to housekeeping. Very cheerful and helpful.

The view from the roof deck is definitely a plus.

It's an old building which was converted into a hotel. But the conversion was well done.

Location is awesome -- short walk to La Rambla (although you might consider a cab going back after an afternoon of shopping), and an even shorter walk to the Gothic area.

Good tip is to request an upper floor room that is not facing the street, because of the street noise. The breakfast at the hotel is very good, especially those pepperoni sausages.

Only downside is the AC -- centralized and they hadn't turned on the heat, so the nights were kinda chilly. Not sure how this can be fixed ... offer space heaters maybe?

All in all a great boutique hotel, worthy of its ranking.

Room Tip: Request for an upper floor, away from the street. Street noise can get loud.

Friendly welcome at reception makes all the difference and sets the tone for the rest of the stay. Stylish hotel especially the roof top pool area. The pool isn't heated so best to use it during the day in the sun, which went by 5pm, its quite small so more of a leisure and cooling off pool. We hang out around the pool area during our last day after we checked out, you can find a couple of loos on the top floor to change in. The bar food menu is quite restricted but fine, mainly sandwiches. The pool area is open to the public after 8pm, definitely worth a visit if you aren't a resident. Hotel has a very central location on the main road and moments away from the tourist hop on and off bus. We had a standard double room on the fourth floor, it did suffer from street noise but bring ear plugs, we did ask to be put in a quiet spot. The furnishings and styling are modern, but the bathroom is a bit intimate as there is a glass sliding door which is more for affect than effective. would stay here again

Room Tip: choose as high as possible to get away from street noise

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights of our honeymoon and enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location is perfect - centrally located to everything you want in Barcelona, architecture, museums, historic city, las Ramblas, shops, restaurants, etc... The hotel is modern and stylish, the rooftop pool and lounge area "oozes cool" and the downstairs bar was a great place for a late nightcap. The staff spoke excellent English, were warm, helpful, friendly and through in some personal honeymoon touches for us (Kava!).

We splurged on a "couples massage" one of the days there and were a bit surprised that there wasn't really a spa, but simply a small massage room. Nonetheless, the quality of the massages we received were the best ever, anywhere.

The room wasn't especially large, but very quiet and accomodating.

All in all - great hotel and we would stay here anytime we are back in Barcelona.

Room Tip: We had a room on the East side of the hotel (opposite the main / front street) and it overlooked a l...
