“Great location, small rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Relatively modern hotel in a great location on a busy street. Close to many walkable hot tourist spots. 4 internet-connected computers in the lobby. Water and chocolate provided at night. Not too expensive. One downside: relatively small rooms. In ours, the bathroom was right next to the bed. Yuk. Still, you shouldn't expect much better in a downtown affordable hotel in the city center! The rooftop is wonderful, complete with swimming pool.

Room Tip: Go for a 4th or 5th floor room, to minimize the noise from the busy street below.

This hotel is located well for access to everything you may want whilst visiting the beautiful city of Barcelona. It is minutes away from Las Ramlas and the beaches, we used the city tour buses to get around and bought a 2 day ticket which enabled us to get everywhere that we wanted, the buses stop just about 50 yards up the main road from the hotel.
Staff were very helpful and courteous, the roof top bar and pool were a bonus, its great to sit up there and enjoy the view whist resting your weary feet, the pool is small but at least there is one!
The rooms were small, probably one of the smallest rooms in a decent hotel we have ever stayed in but we didn't go to Barcelona to sit in out room so that didn't matter too much.
Nice hotel, nice staff just the place for a short break. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: If rooms are important then look at up grading to get more room as standard rooms are small.

It is located very centrally, 5min walking distance from Las Ramblas and about 20 minutes from the beach.. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very modern feel inside the hotel and in the rooms yet still very cosy; when we checked in we were sent to an occupied room at first which was handled very professionally and we got an upgrade on the spot.
The 5star service, the location and the great atmosphere in the hotel made our stay very pleasant.

This hotel is just great - fantastic service, great ambience and interiour and the breakfast is wonderful. However this is also what you expect from 5 stars. And generally you are not disappointed.
We had some problems with the heating in both rooms and they were unable to solve them during our stay. The rooms were too hot, and it was impossible to adjust. This is why I only give a 4 dot rating.
That said, I would stay there again.
Further the location is great

Staff were wonderful. Manager recommended wonderful restaurant to visit on our one evening in Barcelona. When we arrived, there was a Protest March going on so we had to walk a little way dragging our luggage (for a month) behind us. Fortunately, the taxi driver helped!! Room we were shown to looked over someone's back yard, their washing, and a brick wall so we asked to be moved. this was no problem but why were we shown to that room in the first place? Next room overlooked main street and was great. Roof garden/pool was lovely with views across the City. Pool was a little cold for swimming (November) and temperatures unseasonably cool according to everyone, but it is a beautiful City nevertheless with lots to see and do. Restaurant as recommended (name we can't recall but translates as 'The Seagull' and has a white gull as it's logo down by the harbour) was good - fish a speciality obviously. Breakfast next day - not amazing but there was a choice of sorts. Staff - 10/10, rooms - be choosy, make sure you have one NOT looking into a brick wall. Rooms contemporary but comfortable, clean and we would go again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT overlooking brick walls and washing lines! Front rooms were fairly quiet but may...

Three of us spent four nights at the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the minimalist comfort offered by the hotel. The rooftop bar area and pool are very nice for sundowners. The staff were friendly and helpful and always ensured our comfort not only at the hotel but the city as well.

Upon our departure we had a very early morning flight and requested a wake up call the night before. The staff duly obliged and even packed us breakfast to go (it was great but too much food for people about to board a flight).
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The title says it all, it's a high quality hotel (perhaps 4.5* rather than their claim for 5*) but from the great hotel bar and lounge area through to the modern and well fitted out rooms it's a great option if you want to be right bang in the centre of the city.

All I can add is that if it's in your budget go for it!
