“Conveniently located right next to the Conference Center, Beach, and the Metro.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We were in Barcelona for 6 days for a conference. So the location of this hotel was perfect. The conference center is so close to the hotel, that I could just walk in my heels and didnt have to carry flats.

Pros:
- Located near the beach, if that's what you are looking for. However, if you want to be close to Las Ramblas, its at least 20-25 minute train ride.
- The metro stop is just two blocks away. Thus, we were able to go into the city without any problem.
- Room Service was very prompt and kept our rooms clean. Even when we called for extra towels or iron, they promptly delivered it to our room.
- Rooms either face the city or the ocean (we had an ocean view room). We were on the 10th floor, and could see the ocean. There is big building that blocks the view, but still ocean is view-able.
- Rooftop bar has good food options. The service was very slow, but I expect that in Europe. The pool is small though.
- The breakfast buffet was great with lots of options.

Cons:
- The wifi is terrible. Even after paying 12 Euros a night, we barely got good connection. In addition, the wifi should have worked on 3 separate devices. But it only worked on one. Considering this hotel is mostly used by people attending a conference, strong wifi connection should be imperative.
- The rooms are not equipped with a safe. This was a bit of a concern for us, as we wanted to store our passports and extra cash away before heading to the conference and then sight seeing. However, the reception area has about 30 or so lockers. They give you a key (25 Euros fee in case key is lost), and we were able to store our things in the safe.
- If you want to be close to Las Ramblas, Gothic Quarters etc, this hotel is not for you. It will easily take about 20-25 minutes in the train.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. Next time I go to Barcelona, I'll probably stay closer to Las Ramblas. However, this is a perfect hotel if you are there to attend a conference or wish to be near the beach.

Great hotel and rooms in an excellent location if you want to be slightly away from the city and closer to the beach. Spent 2 nights there and really enjoyed the pool and spa areas. I do have a few suggestions though for the hotel to improve.

1. There should be free wifi in the rooms as against a charge of 12.50 Euro/24Hrs.
2. No safe, tea/coffee facilities or iron in the room.
3. Reception staff though really pleasant could do with smiling a bit more ;)

Apart from that, I think the hotel was fabulous and I would defy recommend it and would go back again!

Room Tip: Make sure you visit the roof top pool and get there early coz the sun beds go very quickly :)

Pool area and spa are nice but where closed a complete week during my stay.
Staff could be more ambitious.
Breakfast and room were okay but overall value for money was average only.
Would not stay again.

Room Tip: Upper floors offer nice views either on the sea or the city.

This hotel is located near the northern end of the very long Avenida Diagonal, on top of the Barcelona International Congress Center. Consequently it is especially used by guests attending conferences. Very close to the sea and beach, it is to far away to walk to the Barcelona city center but taxi's can be found in front of the hotel entrance and the metro station Forum (yellow line 4) is only a short walk away . The reception is professional but not very personal (as can be expected in an business hotel). Rooms offer sufficient space and amenities in accordance with 4-star standards. They come with great views to the city or the sea (at least on the upper floors). The restaurant on the 4th floor is an agreable place to have lunch at noon, but of course there are in Barcelona a lot of more typical options for dinner.
Overall a good hotel. For special occasions in Barcelona I prefer the hotel Arts, which offers far more luxury but a much higher price.

The beach is located 5 mins away from this hotel and is not crowded and mostly adult crowd. There is also a good mall directly opposite. You can get a bus from outside and be at the centre within 10-15 mins.

The local area is commercial so don’t expect much when you step outside the hotel itself. This is ideal for a couples weekend away if you want to be directly on the beach but close- but not in- the central part of town.

Sunbathe in the day, go out at night, worked for us!

We spent 3 nights at this hotel booked because it had smoking rooms! When we arrived, we were informed that the hotel does not have any smoking rooms (which I perfectly understand and I can comply with), while its website still allows you to choose this type of room. Ultimately,we were helped by reception staff and this ended well. But for smokers, pay attention, you can smoke only at 13th floor, where the pool and terrace are locatec( a very nice relaxing place to have your coffee in the mornings).
Breakfast is expensive at 23 eurs per person as it does not have a large variety of plates. An average breakfast, food was ok.
Rooms are basic, do not expect anything fancy. Beach is close, shopping mall same, tourists bus stops across the street.

Spent two nights in this hotel on business. A fine hotel, near the beach and across the street from the Diagonal Mar shopping mall. Location is on the north side of the city, so the drive to and from the airport requires a trip through town which can be very congested on weekdays. Otherwise, taxi is convenient to all parts of Barcelona -- 10 minutes to Eixample and Sagrada Familia, a little longer to Montjuic. Restaurant onsite is OK, but in Barcelona, many, many, many better and more interesting options exist.
