“What you see is what you get”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

Conveniently located 3 blocks from Hospital Clinic Subway station (Line 5).

We stayed in room 507 and found there was a strange fan that came on every 30 minutes so avoid this room but all other double bedrooms were similar.

Here is what we thought of the hotel...

Hotel - modern lobby, helpful staff, no hotel transportation to/from the airport
Rooms - clean, medium size (in European standards), has a safe, air conditioned, decent closet space
Bathroom - large clean washroom
Location - 3 blocks from Hospital Clinic station, worth the walk since hotels only 2 blocks away are MUCH more expensive

Room Tip: 507 had no view (which we did not mind) but had a loud fan come on every 30 minutes in the washroom

We stayed at the hotel just for 2 nights, and it is a good hotel for the price you paid, the rooms are average size, clean and good bathroom. The location is very convenient because it is in a quiet area but close to all the touristic places. The staff was very friendly and the food was good.

The hotel is situated in a quiet side street about five minutes from the nearest metro. The rooms are a bit on the small size but that is nothing new for Europe.we had a double room (110 ) at the back of the hotel which was clean and tidy and quiet. The air conditioning worked well and was quiet during the night so as not to wake you up.The bathroom was clean and tidy although it did have a few cracked floor tiles but this didn't make any difference to the room. The bed was so comfy (having been to Portugal and the bed was so hard that we slept on the couch, we were told that all the beds in Spain were as hard as this, so we weren't looking forward to another hard bed, but there was no need to worry ).
The breakfast was plentiful and replaced often by the staff, (a bit slower at the weekend ). There was plenty of choice including meats, fruits, breads and cakes etc.
The staff were friendly and polite especially Salvador and Francesco.A few staff seem a little abrupt but they are fine once they get to know you.
In the area there are plenty of snack bars and cafes, just sit and enjoy a drink ( the food isn't too good in these places ).There are a few supermarkets and bakeries.
If you want to go shopping then La Ramblas is the place to go with every kind of shop you can think of.
The hotel is with in easy reach of all the tourist attractions either by walking or taking the metro / bus.
When you arrive buy a T10 ticket which will allow you to travel for 1hour and 15 minutes on the metro, bus, train or tram. The only thing is you can't go back on the metro once you have left it, you can change lines but not leave the metro and then return ( it will use another trip on your ticket) so work out how to get where your going in advance and if you need to take the metro then a bus etc.
If you want a meal in a restaurant then you can expect to pay anything from 30 euros upwards to get a decent meal. You can get a tourist menu during the day cheaper but then as you expect you get smaller portions.
All in all the hotel could do with a refurbishment in areas but is clean and tidy in a safe area, if you want a quieter room ask for one at the back of the hotel ( the staff will try and help you as much as possible with any requests of rooms ).

Room Tip: rooms at the back are quieter

The room was nice affording all conveniences. Wifi included in the room is always a plus for a traveler on the go. It was 2 blocks from the metro which would take us to all the hot spots in the city. We decided on this location to save some money and I'm glad we did. One metro stop over is a lot more expensive. But you are on the same block as a grocery and can walk to great restaurants nearby. We didn't sample the hotel breakfast because we wanted to venture out into the city each morning. They had plenty of tourist information displayed which was very helpful. Overall, Barcelona is a very tourist-friendly city and most venues speak English. The hotel also nicely held our bags after checkout so we could spend a few more hours in the city carefree.

Nice stay overall. The room was clean but felt a little bit older than what I expected based on the pictures online. The hotel is not too central but also not too far. Good restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very helpful.

Stayed there for 6 nights in October 2011. The metro is about 5 minutes walk. There is a big suipermarket just arround the corner. Breakfast is rich and you will enjoy it!
The hotel stuff is friendly and there is a free wifi service in the rooms. If you are looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price, in Barcelona - this is it!

Stayed 3 nights with my wife in May '12 as a base for discovering Barcelona, Asked for a quiet room at the back. It was fine, a bit small but clean and quiet. The hotel is not a 4 star but for less than 100€ a night in Barcelona you cannot complain too much. There is an excellent bakery / coffee shop round the corner on Provence. Wifi in our room did not work but is free so we used the lobby.
The parking is expensive at 18€ a night plus tax and VERY tight. Better to find a public car park.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel face on to an inner courtyard ans are quiet.
