“Boutique funky hotel in perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014 via mobile

Perfect location and great hotel - funky interior with great gym and rooftop pool. Great city hotel with everything we needed including very comfortable bed, satellite tv, and chocolates served to us at nighttime! Great staff too.

It was the perfect hotel for my mother and I. It was located just 2 blocks from the Placa Catalunya. It is on a side street off Passeig de Gracia, a wonderful boulevard. We were in Barcelona to visit a bunch of Gaudi sights and we were within walking distance of at least 3 of them and the Picasso Museum.

The staff was very friendly and always helpful. The rooms are small by American standards, but we never had a problem with it. The decor is simple and nice. Very classy.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 611 at the beginning of the trip. View of the interior of the block. We stayed i...

We stayed in March and had a mixed bag with the weather. The Hotel is in a perfect location though for seeing all the sights and walking around.

The rooms are clean and modern but cosy at the sane time. The bathrooms are nicely done with a lovely big rain head shower.

I would definitely reccomend this hotel and will stay there next time that i visit Barcelona.

Just back after a fabulous 3 day break in Barcelona. Stayed here and have to say it is one of the best city hotels I have stayed in anywhere. Firstly, the location is excellent, right in the heart of everything. Staff were very helpful and gave us loads of helpful information. We got a room at the back of the hotel looking down onto the pool. The hotel has recently undergone renovations and the rooms are of a very high standard. Did not eat in the hotel so cant comment on the food but the menu looked good (breakfast looked a bit on the pricey side).

Room Tip: Did not comment on the restaurant and fitness centre as we were not in either.

We had a wonderfull weekend in this hotel.
The rooms are new and very clean, the breakfast was perfect.
The location is wonderfull and very close to catalunya plaza.

Except one thing: We asked for dubble bed and we got two single bed. It's not convenient at all!

Firstly the hotel is in a fantastic position . Very close (4minutes walk ) to the main square yet very quiet .The hotel has only been open a year but the building is an old original building very well modernised , solid therefore quiet .We had a room on top , 7th , floor .It was a duplex with a good sized terrace overlooking main road . However there was no noise in room and only a little traffic noise on terrace . The view was great and we could see the Gaudi cathedral . We also had the sun from about 1 pm till sun down ... Great . There was a 2 seater bistro set and 2 modern sun chairs on terrace . The bed room was up with a washbasin , separate toilet TV ... The bed was very comfy . Downstairs was a small sitting area with mini bar , another TV ,coffee machine , shower room with washbasin and another separate toilet .The wardrobe space was limited to this area and did not include full length hanging . So anyone with a long dress or who likes to hang trousers on special hangers will have a problem ie me .I did feed this back to reception .there is a safe and free wifi .There is also an internet area in reception where guests can print off / browse etc .
We did not have breakfast but we enjoyed having a quick bite in tapas bar 2 doors down which opens at 9 every day . Hubby had bacon on toast and I had toast and jam with 2 coffees ..9Euros .we also had tapas there one evening and as novices to tapas the barman helped advise us and we enjoyed those we chose ( non fishy )
We tried to dine in hotel on our first night and booked for 8.30 but when we went down there was no one in and we did not want to be the only 2 in the largish room so we cancelled and went elsewhere . I am not sure that many guests actually eat in hotel .
We viewed but did not use pool/ pool terrace , some rooms over look this but not sure if they will get much sun on that side .
The staff were pleasant and helpful in the main ... Some more than others .Had a problem trying to get an iron when it was convenient for me . IVAN AND TREVOR should be mentioned for good service .
It is a good , quiet hotel ,very clean all mod cons convenient for everything unless you want to spend all your time in port or waterfront . Would I go again ? Yes ...it isn't cheap but it has all I want from a hotel .

Room Tip: I assume like ours the higher the quieter . There is a subway which goes near hotel and on 7 th floo...
