“Modern and Clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Hotel was modern and clean. Room was a little tight but the hotel is in a great location near The Ramblas. We had problems with our Wi-Fi, but Raul, at the front desk, was very helpful and attentive. We sought his advice on other matters and he proved very accomodating and pleasant.

This is not a swanky hotel but if you like a good, clean modern hotel near to all that Barcelona has to offer then this hotel is definitely to you. The rooms are comfortable with attention to detail for the traveller. The staff are extremely attentive and nothing was too much bother when we stayed recently especially Raul. Really convenient for the A1 airport shuttle as the bus stop just a short walk away on Gran Via. There is a small restaurant at the hotel that serves delicious Spanish fare. Buffet breakfast available but there is a patisserie next door for the most gorgeous coffee and croissant.

We stayed here for just two nights!
It was a great location, 10 mins from the ramblas, 2 mins to the metro, and next to plenty of cafes/bakery's/ tapas bars! It was exceptionally clean, beds were really comfortable, it was modern, the staff very helpful & freindly! I would stay here again without a doubt! The only tiny negative was our windows were facing the walls of the building, so no view, but who needs a view when your out & about all day! Overall excellent!

Near Placa Universitat this is a newer boutique-style hotel decorated with an airline motif. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. Small reception area was a bit overwhelmed, but had a room ready for us and upgraded to a superior room. Breakfast buffet was a bit costly, so did not partake. Lots of cheaper options nearby. 1 block to Metro. Good value.

Visited barcelona for a quick weekend trip with my significant other and we chose this hotel due to it's seemingly central location. When it comes to location, although this hotel is central, you still have to take public transport to both the beaches and interesting sights in Barcelona, like gaudis architecture, unless you want to walk long distances in the sweltering sun. Having said this, you have to walk no more than 15 minutes to placa de catalunya and la rambla, the center of the city.
As for the hotel itself, the building looks small and unimposing from the street, but is large on the inside, with many rooms. When we arrived, the room we had booked(without a balcony) was still being cleaned and a room with a balcony had just been cleaned, so we were upgraded for no extra charge. Downside of this was that there was no double bed, just two large singles right next to each other but it wasn't of significant bother.
The room was clean and modern, with two small rooms with glass doors for shower and toilet. If you are bothered by the sound of others going to the toilet, this can be a problem as these doors aren't soundproof. The glass doors out on to the street were though, and practically no vehicle noise could be heard, only the odd drunk yelling. Absolutely no complaints about appearance of the room, everything was most comfortable. The AC could get a little cold at night, but throw a blanket on from the cupboard, and no problemo.
We paid for breakfast, which was tasty, with a large selection of different breakfast foods both continental and "hot". In my opinion, bacon, eggs, sausages and potatoes should be eaten hot, not cold, or luke warm at best. We had breakfast on three mornings and on each, the hot food was cold. Even when they brought out new bacon to replenish the supply, it was only slightly warm. Probably better to go to a nearby cafe for breakfast.
Overall a pleasant stay in a classy and upmarket establishment.

The hotel is located in gran via walking distance to plaza catalunya and very near to a metro station .Reception is quite small with limited seating space other than in the restaurant. Nothing impressive from the outset compared to the nearby hotel soho , jazz, H10 Casanova . Since it is recently opened the rooms are fresh, smells good with clean modern furnishings. Not the spacious of room but for a couple it serves a good purpose for a short break . There is a separate toilet and shower with huge shower top by hans grohe. The toiletries are sleek but the wash basin and mirror are outside the toilet facing the entrance which is a bit off putting . The bed is reasonable if not the comfiest but the whole package and furnishing blended well . Choose room facing the back for a quiet one that has a small pool view or higher room facing the front . Air cond works pretty well and the lightening is great . A small pool at the back on the first floor fit for four people with few nice deck lounges . Gym is small but its all you need . There's a multifaceted machine that caters for different aspects of body workouts if u are used to using the gym otherwise treadmill is there all brand new . The staffs are friendly and checking in is hassle free . Raoul was great . Wifi is in a good order and those flying on vueling will have the flights departures information on screen. For what it offers i.e a good location with nice clean modern room €100 per nite is a great value with clean modern facilities .

Dear guest,

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Regarding the size of the room, we welcome you to try our Superior rooms, they are more spacious than the standard and have one big bed instead of two separate beds, which is best for a couple.

Also all our rooms are soundproof thanks to the double glass windows, so even if u get a room on the first or second floor facing the street you will find that there is no noise from outside.

We really appreciate your comment and we hope to see you again soon!

Kind regards.

This hotel has only been open/refurbished for six months. Its very modern and the décor of the bar is a bit of a surprise. However we had a superior room on the back of the hotel which was really good and quiet. I'm not sure how quiet the front rooms would be as the hotel is located on the Grand Via which is very busy. The beds are comfortable, the showers really good and we could not fault the room at all. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the Ramblas and a few minutes from the metro which made it really well located. We would certainly stay here again. The pool is really a plunge pool - two strokes and you have swum its length but ideal for cooling off. If we stay again I would book a terrace so that there is the opportunity to sit in the sunshine in the afternoon in relative privacy.

Dear Sarah,

Thank you so much for your review. We are happy to hear that you liked our hotel, the room as well as the location. Regarding our front rooms, they are very quiet too due to all the rooms having double glass windows.

We hope to welcome you very soon and ask for our terrace rooms!

Best regards.
