Description: This little gem of a tapas and wine bar is a real find, right in the heart of Barcelona's old city. Located in a charming old winding street in the vibrant Born neighbourhood, Ziryab serves its fantastic fusion brunch from 12pm - 4pm on Saturdays & Sundays with bossa nova guitar music (beautiful way to spend an afternoon... Spiced tea or pink minty Gin Tonic in hand!) And opens evenings for tapas from 7pm every day. Ziryab makes fusion tapas food that blends traditional Catalan and local tapas dishes with fresh spices and herbs from the Middle East, producing original and unique flavours! All home-made, all fresh and with wonderful tastes. Brunch dishes are tasty, big quantities and great prices! Check out on Ziryab's Facebook page which guitar music events are going on, or wine tasting sessions and Arabian nights story-telling evenings (send an email to reserve wine tasting sessions for your group!) Or just come to kick back, soak in the atmosphere and relaxing music and the excellent selection of Catalan and Arab wines!

“Must visit!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

Visited here based on strong TripAdvisor ranking. So glad!! Staff is amazing!! Traveling by myself, so meals can be an adventure. Felt completely welcome, not an annoyance who is taking up a table for more customers. Great wine, although somewhat limited selection, and great place for tapas with a unique twist. Bacon wrapped dates are a must and the potatoes are great as the sauce comes on the side not smothering them. Make sure you meet the owner. She is very nice, friendly and a great cook! Her brother manages the bar and is fantastic! It is a little difficult to find but worth the effort. You might even visit twice as I did!

“Meeting the Tripadvisor community...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

You walk in aromatic alley, find this beautiful, special looking place with amazing reviews, altogether maybe 10 tables, friendly welcome. You sit down and realize that around you 90% of guests are foreigners (like us) all being here after having checked out tripadvisor for a place to eat.

To be clear, it's a great place offering nice snacks from the Moroccan / North African kitchen and an impeccable choice of wines and beer. But if you come for your first time to Barcelona in search for some genuine Spanish Tapas for dinner, I would recommend you avoid this place. And from the faces around I could see that others were thinking the same.

Would be great for a romantic evening with a special person, they also seem to have life events there.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

This as absolutely one of our standout meals in Barcelona. The warmth of the staff, their willingness to accommodate us (despite out lack of reservation on a busy night) gave this place an excellent head start.

Choice wasn't a great need for us, as we liked the look of everything on the menu, and went for one of the set meals. The nuanced blending of flavours and spices were amazing, every mouthful was perfect. The sangria was carefully made and delicate, the mojitos strong but well balanced.

I would recommend this as an essential stop if you're in Barcelona...

“Good but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

After reading all the reviews on Trip Advisor we were expecting an absolutely amazing meal. The food menu is quite limited, consisting mainly of various dips. The food is good but not mind blowing.

The service and the atmosphere are very good though. I would recommend it for a drink and a nibble but not for dinner.

In my opinion there are better places to eat in the area.
