Our family of 4 (mom, dad, 17, 20) stayed here for three nights at the end of July 2013. We were in apartment 2.1i. We called Luis Fuster as instructed when we arrived at the train station from Madrid. He met us there. Very nice gentleman. He checked things out in the apartment to make sure we knew how to work everything and gave us maps marked with where the apartment was and the nearest metro stations. (We found the Verdaguer station easer to get to than the Girona one.) We did a lot of walking and use the metro for long trips. You will need to give Luis a 200 Euro security deposit in CASH which is returned in cash at checkout. The balance of your rent can be payed by credit card with a machine he has that it just like those used in European restaurants. We had a 7:30 am train to catch the day we left so he came at 8 pm the night before and checked us out and returned the deposit. He took one set of keys at that time and had us leave the other in the apartment when we left. You get two sets of keys. Don't lock both in the apartment or they will need to get a locksmith to get it open which you of course will have to pay for. This is easily prevented by putting each set on a lanyard and looping them around your neck or belt.
Ours was an interior apartment that faced the courtyard. No balcony or view of the street which was fine with us as we left by 10 am and did not come back until after midnight. There were two bedrooms and two baths with showers. Master had its own bath and a king size bed. The other bedroom had three single beds one of which could be sectioned off from the other two by a sliding door. This bedroom had no windows. Nice living room with beautiful floor. Had a TV, good free WIFI, and was well furnished. There was a separate dining area. The kitchen was nice though we didn't cook while there. There is a small front loading washing machine in the kitchen. We brought Tide HE detergent capsules with us to use. Worked great. There is no dryer. There are clothes lines out the window of the master bedroom. Clothes pins provided. As this was halfway through our trip we did 4 loads in 3 days. The neighborhood is not very far from Sagrada Familia. There is a friendly grocery just across the street that has fresh fruit and well as wine, beer etc... Many bakeries, cafes and restaurants nearby. Ask Luis for suggestions. We loved the place and would highly recommend it especially for a family with kids.
