“Cute Boutique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights. The location is about a 5 min walk from Plaça Catalunya which is great. I found it pretty simple to find the hotel, however it could be difficult for people to locate as it is basically the 2nd floor of a building and you need to be buzzed in.
I loved the uniquiness of the boutique and rooms. The bedding was fantastic, I could have slept in it all day.
My only complaint about the location was that I found the room to be a bit cold. When I went to the front desk to inquire about the heating, they advised me it was a building situation, and I could not change my room temperature. Once it was in bed, the duvet was so warm I was roasting away, however for just relaxing in the room, watching some tv, repacking luggage, I found it cold.
My recommendation to them would to have extra blankets/throws or provide bath robes.

Otherwise highly recommend. Very lovely and unique place.

Stayed here a couple of nights Nov 2013. This place is lovely. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The gentleman at the reception was very VERY helpful. He went out of his way to help me print our boarding pass which I couldn't get in .PDF format for the life of me. They serve complimentary coffee and bread in the morning. It is close to plaza Catalunya and the metro. You should definitely consider staying here.

In this spectacularly designed hotel there is a room for everyone - from single or double rooms, to delux rooms which include an exquisite lounge and shared rooms for groups of 3 or 4.

Each piece of furniture is carefully hand picked and shared spaces and rooms extremely cozy.

There is a beautiful deck outside for your use, if you'd like to soak in some sunshine and sip a coffee without every leaving your hotel.

The location is perfect - steps away from Placa Cataluniya, with a metro station right outside the hotel and another, bigger one, in Passeige de Gracia. But honestly, with this location - when are you ever going to use the metro any way?

If this is your first stay in Barcelona, I do recommend that you 'splurge' and take the tour bus, which will take you to all the 'must sees' in the city, which you would otherwise need to see one by one with public transportation.
We decided to take the two day tour, allowing us to stay on the bus for the tour on the first day, and then just hop off at desired places on the second.

Enjoy!

Violeta Boutique is beautiful... Impeccably clean, modern and you can tell everything in there is new. The staff were extremely helpful both leading up to, during and even after our stay. We stayed in room 12 and had our own little balcony facing into a courtyard. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the location is perfect and situated in a safe area. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Violeta to any of my friends!

Room Tip: Room 12 was fantastic, 2nd floor facing the courtyard

We stay at this hotel for our honeymoon for 5 nights. The room we stayed was a bit noisy because of the sports centre in the ground floor. The noise started at 6 in the morning and kept on till 10pm :( Our room had the view of the terrace, which was a bit disappointing since I think the rooms with the street view would be better. For two days in the morning we had no hot water for shower because of a failure in the system. And we were a bit unhappy with the house keeping too to tell the truth. Beyond all, the the location is great, right in the city centre, the building and the design of the hotel is nice but the poor cleaning and noisy room was a nightmare for us. We took the shuttle for the airport arranged by the reception and while we were waiting for a van to pick us, a black Mercedes car came and this was the best part I guess.

You can expect the room to look like on their pictures. Nice design and colors. Very, very spacious rooms (we had a superior double).
Location was also great - near to the metro and shopping district.

If you are sensitive to noises then you might want to ask for a room facing the backyard. The traffic noise might be an issue for someone with very light sleep. Also you can hear your next-room-neighbors pretty well (showering, kids, etc.).
Lightning in the bathroom could be improved and sometimes there was no hot water.

Overall it was a great choice, also price-wise (we stayed three nights for under 200 Euros including a free bottle of cava (complimentary with booking online).

The triple room we had (just next to the courtyard) was spacious and had a nice little sitting area. However no cupboards, just open space hanging rail and shelves. Not an issue as we were able to use it to hang our laundry. The only major issue was the overflowing of water in the shower recess. Just made the bathroom look messy with towels all over the floor (luckily there were towels to spare). Also had no bar fridge so we bought a cooler bag and filled it up with ice so we can have cold drinks in the evenings. Location was convenient with many restaurants and mini-markets nearby. It was a 10-15 min walk to Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas - so convenience without all the noise. Visited Las Ramblas food market every day and it was great.

Wouldn't mind staying here again but will probably try another hotel next time.
