“Best on all dimensions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We went to Teleferic on a cold and windy evening when we originally had reservations elsewhere but wanted to stay closer to our hotel...and we could not have made a better choice. The restaurant was crowded but still felt comfortable and allowed for easy conversation. People were standing at the front of the restaurant enjoying tapas and then tables in the back. There are essentially two ways of ordering. Certain larger items are ordered from the menu, we had patatas baravas (thinly sliced fried potatoes with spicy sauce) and a wonderful, tender steak. We dont often like our steak very rare, but our server (one of the owners) asked us to try since it was the best way to eat this steak, and she was absolutely right. Other tapas is in a self serve fashion with a counter of hot tapas and then a counter of cold tapas. Each small plate has a long, colored toothpick which designates the pricing. At the end of the meal they count up the sticks. We had a variety of warm tapas all of which were excellent. Beyond the great food, we had a flavorful and refreshing sangrias. On top of all this was really great service. The brother and sister owners, Maria and Xavi, make you feel extremely welcome taking time to talk, joke, explain, and generally create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. We hated to leave the warmth in all senses of the restaurant to go back out to the cold, and are sure to return to Teleferic many times in the future.

“Great choices of tapas and very friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

After a very good tapas experience the evening before (at Sensi), my girlfriend and I wanted to try another tapas restaurant. We chose Teleferic based on the positive Tripadvisor comments.
We arrived on a Sunday evening a bit before eight in the evening with no reservation - it was no problem to get a table. The service staff was just arranging the buffet for the evening ... and it looked gorgeous.
For starters we had a Sangria each (hand made at the bar and very tasty indeed). Then the owner explained the concept to us: you pick the tapas you want, collect the large tooth picks (there are five different varieties) and pay at the end based on your choices. The prices for the tapas range from 1,80€ to 4,50€. In total we spend around €50 that night for about a dozen tapas and a delicious cheescake at the finish line.
All in all, this was a very enjoyable evening. Like many comments before, I can testify to the supreme friendliness of the staff and the tastiness of the tapas.
Very recommended!

“Finally a place to eat real tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We spent 3 days in Barcellona in January.
The last days , we are looking for a restaurant to eat tapas, but real tapas, not what other restaurant gave to us , sometimes the ingredients without bread. So we arrived in this area to try this famous restaurant "flautas" but the queue of people was incredible and we understand that it's another restaurant where they service ingredients without bread so if you don't understand or you don't know what can be great you 'll be chaeted.
so we decide to leave this bar, and looking for another restaurat near the road where we were we find out TELEFERIC!
The place is very nice! and clean! and the tapas are great!
Not to mention the kindness and the attention of the owner, he explained to us how to use the self service buffet and the best and tipical tapas that we could try!
Fabolus! He speak english very well and it is a fortune for us , because we don't speak spanish and nobody in the other restaurant spoke italian.
Then we suggest us to try the Sangria and it was great!
The best tapas and drinks of Barcelona! you have to try it!

“Don't miss this tapas place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

Our hotel concierge at The Renaissance recommended this restaurant, and they were right! It's a trendy looking, clean and welcoming place with excellent food. The owners (a brother and sister, both in their late 20's) went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and made sure we had a good experience. The tapas were great! We also tried the steak, fantastic! So was the grilled tuna. Great, great place!

“Wonderful hospitable owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

The brother and sister owners really know how to work the room and make you feel at home. You pick your own tapas and are charged by the design of the tooth pick in the dish. Place was packed! Definitely a good find.
