“Amazing paella and sangria”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

This is a great little restaurant! I was staying at Casa de Marcelo also and this place came highly recommended from the owner for its paella. The paella and sangria were truly amazing! Everything was perfect except the shrimp was a little mushy but honestly it was a great meal for less than €40 when tax was factored in. The staff was super friendly and always checking in on us. But if you're looking for atmosphere, you might be a little disappointed because it's a really simple restaurant with potted plants hanging from the ceilings and plastic flowers. I didn't mind because I was there for the food, but it's something to keep in mind in case hearing the staff listen to TV in the background isn't your cup of tea.

“No competition”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

the food is decent to good but overpriced....here is a tip...drive the 35 miles to Paducah for a selection. There is a downtown section to walk along the riverfront in Paducah. The Oasis is beside the interstate. If you are staying at the lakes and tired, this is a good choice. If you are stuck in the winter it is better.

“Great mom & pop paella”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

This mom & pop restaurant was recommended to me by Marcelo at his B&B (Casa de Marcelo). It's an unpretentious place where the 'mom' was as excited at the cooking as I was to eat it. And with all the professional but rather indifferent tourist restaurants, it was a nice change. The mussels were excellent, very fresh and equal to what I've had in Toulouse or Brussels. The house seafood paella was also excellent. The gambas in it were better prepared than those I had at restaurants just north in Roses, Spain. I rarely drink Sangria. But their Sangria, made with wine, oranges, tangerines and other ingredients, was less sweet and more interesting than I had in Tarragona. I'd much rather eat there than any of the large restaurants up and down Passeig de Joan de Borbo. Note that Oasis closes early at 10pm.
