“Friendly staff, a safe hotel, a good choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Such friendly and helpful staff, who spoke English. About 30 mins walk to train station. 25 mins walk to Ramblas. 50 mins walk to sagreda familia - what a church - book online, then print ticket at the bank on the corner (ask hotel staff) as the queues for sagreda are huge - but worth it. Wifi slow. Bed was hard. Room was a good size, lovely big windows, bathroom was great. Be prepared not to eat early evening as few restaurants are open before 8.00pm.
So perhaps not the most accessible of locations but it was a safe, quiet, friendly hotel. Metro is near. We had 5 nights there, sadly they appear to turn the sheets/blanket from top to toe, which isn't great. At €100 a night it was reasonable for Barcelona. Overall, we would stay again.

We stayed here for 2 nights, part of a Groupon break, and found the staff very knowledgable about the area, and in many languages. The Hotel had spacious rooms, loads of hot water and was very clean. Breakfast was continental, and lots of it, very tasty. Bed was huge and very comfortable, enough extra pillows etc for both of us, and the bathroom was big with lovely fluffy towels. It was in a good location, about 20 minutes walk to Las Ramblas one way and about 10 minutes walk to the area where the Olympic staduim is, so perfect for us. The bars and restaurants in the area were plentiful and not overpriced unlike those actually on Las Rambles. The open top bus tours are a must to see the area, hop on and off as you like. We would definately go back.

We stayed here Sept 14-23 & thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room was on the 6th floor & overlooked the intersection at the front. Very nice view. Room was large by European standards & the bathroom was very nice. Lots of hot water. Nice to have a room fridge. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was more than adequate. Good variety of food. If you want bacon & eggs you have to ask one of the servers for it. Just a 2 block walk to the Rocafort subway stn. A couple of corner stores right there & a couple of restaurants as well. We really liked the "Mediterranean". Food was excellent & 2 bottles of wine for $14.95. Definately a good value for the money & great location.

We booked this through groupon to include breakfast. Breakfast was very good. There did not appear to be an alternative cooked breakfast though some guests were eating egg and bacon how they oprdered it was not apparent---plenty of choice anyway. A very good deal. The hotel was clean, beds comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Their recommendations of where to eat lmited but if one walks for 5 minutes there are plenty of places to eat. Prompt service in ordering taxi.

Room Tip: Some rooms have no view---ours didnot. Request a view

Just got back from a five night stay and have had a very pleasant stay. It is quite well situated with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. We booked through Groupon and the deal included breakfast, which was ideal but I certainly wouldn't have paid 17 euros for it. That said, the food was plentiful and the waiting staff very helpful and courteous. The rooms were basic but clean, roomy and comfortable. I think a good comparison would be a Premier Inn. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would go again.

the only thing that was wrong was the overpriced breakfast
17 euros each was a lot, so going to the smaller cafes in the morning pays off 12-14 euros for the three of us to have breakfast
the bar prices at the hotel were very overpriced and it closed at 11pm
5 euros for the use of the computor for 30 mins
all i wanted was to print my boarding pass although the did offer to print it it if i emailed it to them
good clean hotel,helpful staff,good location
would use this hotel again

Easily accessible to the Metro and therefore made getting around the city fairly easy!

Staff were friendly and helpful, they reminded us of free wifi, they sold discounted city tour guides and suggested some good places to eat!

Realistically a UK class3 star hotel but could be a 4 star if maybe it wasn't so basic! Reminded of Holiday Inn Express, that is met your needs without any real frills!
Rooms had AC, but a basic tv, nicely decorated but not alot of plug outlets.

Would not mind staying again although may try get a place closer to the city or with a pool (Barca got crazy hot)

Barcelona is an amazing City by the way, all the beauty of a hoilday destination in A brilliantly vibrant European city....... And the beaches were amazing!!! Definitely a new regular destination of choice.... 5 stars.....
