“Lovely hotel and central”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2012

Stayed here in January 2011 and loved it. Room was a little small but quiet and clean which is all you need, especially if you have the dreaded 'man flu', which is just about the worst type of flu you can get I hear. About 1 minute from place de catalunya so perfect if you love shopping and you can walk to the sagrada familia in 20 mins unless the flu goes to your legs. Recommend it and it's in the Mr & Mrs Smith romantic hotel guide. Top tip, book direct via their website as its much cheaper and they offer discounts if you book online and early.

We stayed here for two nights on our first visit to Barcelona about 4 years ago. This time, just as then, we loved this hotel. (We found out about it on Tripadvisor.) A wonderful location just off the Plaza Catalonya and Metro close, it is a few short blocks to the top of La Rambla. A very nice multilingual front desk staff, A fun little bar in the lobby. A tasty buffet breakfast in the morning. Because it was a bit cold in February, the rooftop bar was closed, but it is a great place to go on a warm evening after a long day of seeing Gaudi attractions, drinking Sangria on La Rambla , having a pint at an Irish bar, or a fresh fish dinner at one of the many fine nearby restaurants. A guest mix of people from all walks of life. Tourists, businessmen, artists - you name it. Rooms are a bit on the small size, but the decor is delightful. They do have larger rooms if needed. We had to leave to catch a cruise, but we will be back.

No complaints - only praise!

I stayed at Hotel Pulitzer over the weekend and really enjoyed the experience. It is a small boutique hotel very well located in the heart of the city near La Rambla and Placa de Catalonya. Very helpful staff, great art on the walls everywhere including in the rooms. Very warm atmosphere in the bar which offers a small food menu but rather tasty choices. The rooms are a bit on the small side but the bathroom was quite roomy. Great breakfast selection as well and the opportunity to enjoy it on a patio (closed right now). I would definitely go back if I can get a bigger room although I was told at the reception that most rooms have the same size and have twin beds pulled together. Definitely the only negative point which can take North Americans travelers a bit off guard

Room Tip: Ask for a bigger room although I was told there are a few available only

In the city and better than the city: this is especially true for the Pulitzer hotel in Barcelona.
- location is unbeatable if you want to be in the centre: right next to Catalunya square, yet still in the better (quieter, less touristy) side street, and in the beginning of the classy Eixample.
- style is slick, modern and elegant. all the right details, up to the room and bathroom fittings, are good looking, ergonomically thought of and just work perfectly. the lounge downstairs breathes relaxation and just enough sex appeal to unwind to jazz music with a cocktail before hitting the nightlife, or just for a tea or coffee break with friends (or alone) during the day.
- rooms are slightly small but we got a front balcony room with a bathroom on the back side opening up to a patio (perfect for airing the room).
- wifi free everywhere, without password: seems so natural you'd think all hotels would have thought of this by now, but most of them want to squeeze your money out of this, this one rightfully doesn't.
- breakfast includes all the local basics plus a decent selection of international standards (good cereals, nuts, etc). beautiful, verandah-like breakfast room with lots of light and just the right selection of lounge music , plus great service from the friendly staff put you in a positive mood for the day ahead.

This hotel is just perfect for visiting Barcelona, the location, style of hotel was great. We had the 19 euro lunch deal in the restaruant which was delicious and very good value... Didn't have the breakfast or any of the other snacks... Free wi-fi is great, staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were quiet and stylish. The location is near the central part of Barcelona and top of La Rambla. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again, as well as try its hotel in Paris... Enjoy

Room Tip: Ask for the details of the Holmes Place, which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel which you can use f...

I stayed at this hotel last March. We managed to get a really good deal for this hotel and it exceeded my expectations! Firstly, when you come out of the airport, you just need to get a bus into Barcelona which was inexpensive and a short trip. The bus stops in the main area which is only a few minutes walk to the hotel... The hotel is in a great area full of shops and restaurants. The hotel itself has a beautiful, minimalist lobby bar area which we used a couple of evenings before going out and they do great cocktails! The room was very close to the lift although we did not hear any noise. The rooms are decorated in a modern way and had a great bathroom full of tolietries which were replenished every day. We did not eat at the hotel preferring to sample the local cuisine and we asked the hotel to recommend a couple of places we could eat in the evening and we were really delighted with their choice. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again especially as we received such a good deal on the price!

I have stayed here more than once as I like the style and value offered by this hotel. Its right next to Place De Catalunya so in a great location. The boutique style is pleasing and the bedrooms are comfortable with the bonus of free wifi. Lobby bar is elegant and they have live jazz on Thursdays in Feb and March. Nice rooftop bar for the summer as well. Breakfast is a little limited and costs 16 Euros extra, but apart from that Im happy to return here.

Room Tip: Higher floors will be quieter
