“Great location, stunning views, shame about the party next door.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

Right next to the train station with easy metro access this hotel was an ideal base for exploring the city of Barcelona. We stayed on the 21st floor which offered us stunning views of plaça espanya, the room was spotless and the staff helpful. My only complaint was that we stayed 5 nights and for 2 of those nights were awoken at gone 1am by loud party music. The first time I think was from the nearby park so hardly the hotels fault, the second on our last night was from the 'madonna' party at the hotel. Not ideal being awoken at 1:30am when you've got an early flight the next morning. Overall a great place to stay, they just need to decide if they want to be an ideal hotel for travellers or a late night party hotel for ravers!

Located just opposite BCN Sants Station, safe area but lack entertainment & food options, although there are several supermarkets nearby.

Big hotel room, big bathroom not much view as our room was facing the Expo Hotel which equally looks rundown from the outside. But the interior are fairly new & modern. Was a little disappointed that the tv was old & bulky considering it is a 4 star hotel.

The lady at the reception informed us that "Internet is Free" but we found out later that it is only for the first 30 mins throughout our stay.

The main reason we chose this hotel was due to an early morning train to Seville and we thought after travelling for 18 hours including transit, we decided why not splurge a little on a nice hotel.

We received a complimentary voucher for cocktails at the Eclectik bar (located at the ground floor). Skipped da breakfast offer at an additional 12 euros per pax. Walked to Sants station and ate at one of the nice cafes there instead while waiting for our train.

Also, the BCN City Tour Bus stop is quite near to the hotel (opp. Sants Station taxi stand)

You could also walk for 15-20 mins to Plaza Espanya and Fira Barcelona Shopping Centre.

Overall, if location to the Sants Station is one of your priorities and you don't mind spending 130 Euros per night for a triple room w/o breakfast, and you need a full-service hotel, then this hotel is for you.

Convenient for the main train station and metro. Great breakfast buffet, if a little expensive. Amenities were good, nice sized room, Hotel staff were very helpful and if we return to Barcelona, we will be staying here again.

We stayed at the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya over the weekend and the hotel suited our needs perfectly. The views from our bedroom on the 18th floor were spectacular. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean, quiet and the city views were stunning. We found the receptionists to be always extremely helpful and informative and we received helpful service from the business centre. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya and the former Olympic site. Also within walking distance is the Caixa Forum - which is a stunning gallery that we visited to view the (free entrance) Goya and Delacroix exhibitions, which were excellent. Across the road from the Caixa Forum is the Pavello Mies van der Rohe, which is amazing. The hotel is placed at the centre of brilliant transport links - it is directly opposite the main Estacio Sants mainline train station, bus station and Metro station, which makes it an ideal trip to/from the airport. I would recommend the hotel and I would definitely consider staying here again on any future visits to Barcelona.

Hola, hello to everyone!! My husband and I stayed at this amazing hotel and our experience was amazing. We stayed for four days before taking a cruise. If we come back to Barcelona, the first option will be this hotel; excellent service, delicious food, nice people, etc.l!! We paid extra por breakfast buffet, plenty of food and delicious!!! Also, it is easy to move from one place to another in taxi or public transportation. Nice places to go out for dinner, reasonable prices. The train station was two minutes walking from the hotel!! During our four days, we visited Barcelona at our own pace, we took the double-decker tourist bus for two days. You can get on and off all day long, with the same ticket, you can change routes and learn about the history of the city through a comfortable audio system with earphones, in 12 different languages. My best advise, check and compare prices. Also, if you are going to take a taxi, always ask the fare before take it. One taxi driver charge us over, the double, from the hotel to the port... But, in general, our experience was great!!!

Room Tip: We have a nice view. Any side of the hotel has nice views.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in Barcelona and found it to be the perfect jumping off point for our exploration. It is right across the street from the Sants metro / train station, making it perfectly accessible to the rest of the city. The views from the rooms over the city are really nice and all the amenities are there.

Not a bad hotel, but is somehow far from the center and the furniture is a bit outdated (huge cathodic tube TV for example). The SPA is oldish and the gym very small. The price was, consiedering the level of service and location, not that cheap as I had imegined...
