We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and thought it was great. Here are some key points
- It is so easy to get to from airport just get train directly to Barcelona Sants and its just opposite the station
-Its 6 metro stops on the green line into Placa Catalunya the main area in Barcelona
- Its very quiet at the hotel only noise as mentioned was the odd ambulance
- We walked one day into La Ramblas which only took 30 mins and is a nice stroll.
- Pay the extra for the executive suite the view is amazing we were on the 18th floor
- Don't bother getting breakfast every morning ite expensive just go one morning to appreciate the view.
-The room itself is big the bathroom is fab and the beds are very comfortable.
If you stay here you'll enjoy it the price is so good for what you get.

Our group of 4 (two teenagers plus my niece and myself) rented 2 rooms on the 15th floor of this great hotel on December 28. Super-sized non-smoking rooms, wonderful bathroom, great sheets, towels, bathrobes and slippers. We had a view of the Tibidabo from our rooms.The 10 euro breakfast on the top floor with fantastic views of Barcelona was well worth the money. The rooms were 100 euros/night (plus taxes and extras) which I thought was reasonable.

Helpful and polite staff. Offered maps and directions to my favorite tapas places (Cafeteria Cataluña and Ciudad Condal )

No noise at night except for the odd ambulance or police car.

I was hesitant to book so far from the Ramblas/Gotico area, but then decided that if what I could afford was out of the Ramblas area, then it might as well be well-communicated via train or metro, hence the choice near the Sants station.

We liked it so much that we went back to the hotel for their 13 euro, three course menu del dia in the lounge on the ground floor before leaving town.

Great for travelers arriving by train, just a short walk across the plaza, but also good for those arriving by car from southern points as you just have to turn right off of Diagonal onto Numancia and go down a few blocks. No getting trapped in busy Barcelona traffic. The parking lot is under the hotel and there is a hefty daily fee, but that is normal in all hotels I called in Barcelona.

This is a large, contemporary hotel, so if you are looking for quaint, typically Spanish style, you might try elsewhere. It was perfect for us!

My wife and I stayed here February 2008 for 4 nights. After arriving at the Airport we got a train to Sants station. This was very cheap and takes about 15 mins. On exiting the station we could see the hotel straight in front of us so this was very handy. You cannot miss it as there is a large neon Sony sign at the top. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous and we were given a very large, comfortable and clean room. The best part about the hotel is getting breakfast on the top floor. The views of Barcelona were amazing and we got many good pictures. Food was great with lots of variety. Being right next to the train station meant that getting around was easy. We used the Metro as our main means of transport. There were also city tour buses that frequently stopped outside the hotel and I would highly recommend doing the city tour as soon as possible after you arrive. My wife and I had a wonderful stay here and I would highly recommend the hotel.

I stayed 4 nights at the Gran Torre Catalunya in November 2008. This was my first visit to Barcelona and I'm happy to say I picked a good hotel.

Everything was great. I had an "executive room" which is the same as a "standard room" but on a higher floor (I was on the 14th floor). The view of the city was good but if I stay there again I would just take a lower floor and save money. You get the best views when eating breakfast (see below).

The hotel is right next to the main Sants train station which was very convenient as I took a day trip to Figures and also departed for Madrid by train. Also, I arrived by air and the train from the airport goes straight into Sants.

There are 2 Metro lines within a couple blocks walking distance that will get you into Central Barcelona.

One of the highlights was the breakfast. It's a great breakfast buffet on the top floor with the best views. When you check in, you need to tell them you want the breakfast and they will give you the special 10 euro rate. It's well worth it!!

Everything in the room worked and I had no complaints.

There is a large supermarket next door with a small cafe inside. After a long day of sightseeing, I was too tired to go to a restaurant (dinner starts very late in Spain!) so I ate a sandwich in the cafe and it was fine. I also used the market to buy some water and batteries.

If you don't mind staying a little distance from the center of town, this hotel can't be beat!!
