This was my 4th time in this hotel and I still like it as one of the best situated hotels in Barcelona - if you want to enjoy evenings out not using a cab but just finding the nicest places in walking distance from your hotel.
The rooms aren't very spacious, but you find everything you need (all the standards like TV, safe, ...) with one exception: there is no mini bar in the room. Instead you have a big fridge on every store where you find mineral water (still & sparkling) for free(!!!), as well as a basket with fruits.
The service is very nice and helpful.
In the basement of the hotel is a very famous restaurant, but there are so many others around, and tapas and wine bars, ... that I still haven't been there.
Don't forget to have a look at Santa Maria del Mar, the church is not even a 5 min walk away and on a Saturday you may be sure to see a real Spanish wedding.
What I like best is the situation of the hotel and the quietness inside although being in the middle this throbbing atmosphere of Barcelona.
What I like least: the bathrooms begin to age a bit

Good mid range hotel in very good location.

Tube is 2 min walk away, lots of bars and reataurants on your doorstep, other main attractions such as Placa Rei, Ramblas, Gotic all less than 12 min walk away.

Free internet, water and air con.

Found the staff helpful when organising transport back to the airport.

It is very noisy so ask for an interior room if you think that will be a problem and if you like a tea or coffee first thing in the morning take a travel kettle as one is not provided. (Great takeaway coffee shop towards the church at the bottom of the road, not open until 10.)

Would definitely go back.

Hotel Banys Orientals, in Barcelona's Bourne district is a great deal. For 99 euros our room was reasonably large, very modern and immaculately clean. Two high speed internet terminals were available 24 hours a day. The location was great, with lots of people coming and going, numerous tapas bars and retaurants on the narrow street right outside the hotel's front door. The hotel restaurant, open to thre public was quite popular for dinner although we did not eat there, enjoying the tapas bars instead. If you would like to start the day with a solid meal the hotel's optional extra cost buffet breakfast (10 euros) is worthwhile.

We stayed in Banys for five days in May and I can't reccomend this hotel enough. The location is fantastic and I think for the price the hotel was outstanding. We requested a quiet room so I can't comment on the noise but it is down a busy pedestrianised street so I can imagine a room at the front of the hotel would be noisy. The room we had was small but perfectly adequate for our needs, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. The staff were generally not that friendly but they were helpful when we asked for anything.
We didn't find the restaurant at the hotel to be that great. Cal Pep near by is great for lunch or informal dinner and if you want somewhere special but expensive the restaurant Noti is amazing. Another special place for dinner is Somorrostro in Barceloneta, a real find down a small street you wouldn't usually come across, the food is exceptional.
