“Nice hotel, very helpful staff”

Stayed on a business trip, the location is great if you don't want the hustle and bustle from the tourists in the city but with the metro being so good the main city is only a few stops away.

The room was lovely and spacious, the cleaners were great, the air-conditioning was not too powerful but worked efficiently enough for you to have it on all night. As the title says, the staff spoke good enough English so they was no hassle in speaking to them and they were always willing to help.

I've given a score of a 4 because the restaurant was averagely priced but the food wasn't great. The seafood paella lacked seafood, I had one large prawn and not more else. The squid was way too salty for my taste. Having said that, breakfast was a lot nicer in comparison to other European hotels I've stayed in. There was varied choice and nicely cooked. I'll definitely stay again.

Massive positive - The courtyard out back

The one negative is that there's was no pool! But you could see the pool next door which was pretty crap on a lovely summer day but then with the beach only a 10 minute walk away, who needs a pool

I stayed there with my husband for a couple of nights. Overall nice hotel located in a calm area, close to metro and tram station. A huge shopping mall is down the street and free parking is just on the opposite side of the road. The room is rather big and nicely decorated, though pretty stuffy. It takes more than an hour for the air conditioner to cool down the room. I guess in summer it will take longer. There are many knocks and scratches on the furniture. Spacious bathroom with nice looking glass door which though can`t be closed tight, so privacy is under question. Also at night water started dripping from the shower sprinkler and it lasted for a couple of minutes. The following night it happened again. Very pleasant breakfast room with a terrace. Good verity for breakfast, you can even find cava there. The staff were always friendly and ready to help. Good value for money.

We would, in any case, like you to know that our rooms take a maximum of 15 minutes to cool down, so we are sorry if perhaps during your stay there was a temporary circumstance that required your room to take longer than normal.

I stayed here with my 18yr old daughter. We both found it okay, but not as brilliant as to what we were expecting from a 4* hotel.
Yes the rooms were nice looking, and bathroom was a good size, but it obvioulsy is starting to get a bit shabby around the edges. (knocks and scratches on the firniture and limescale on the shower head - make sure you run the shower for little while before getting in).
We found the beds quite hard at first, and there is only one pillow which I found frustrating as I woke up the next day with a sore neck. The room was a twin with the beds pushed next to each other and they were very roomy, slightly bigger than a normal single size.
The staff were all very nice, all spoke excellent English, were very helpful and ready to help us with all tourist and places of interest to visit.
The breakfast room was big and airy. A good supply of hot (eggs -fried, boiled and scrambled, bacon, beans, sausages) and cold - meats, cheeses, continental breads, cakes, fruits, tomatoes, olives, nuts & seeds, cereals, youghrts and a selection of teas and coffees. A good choice even for the fussy eater.
The metro station was a few minutes walk away. To get to the hotel exit the station (heading from the centre) step off the train and head left to the wayout. Walk down towards a crossing near a park area on the right hand side over the road, and a car park area on the lefthand side, and the hotel is right in front on you.
A huge shopping mall is very close by. Turn right when exiting the hotel and it is less than 5 minutes down the road. It contains enough shops to keep you buzy for a few hours, a cinema, a bowling alley and plenty of restaurants to choose from (Spanish, Italian, Oriental, Texan and the usual fast foodie places). In the mall there is very large supermarket where we stocked up on drinks and snacks to take with us on our 'days out'.
We managed to take the metro and train to Montserrat very easily from the hotel, you just need to make up your mind if you want to take the cable car or the train to top of the mountain as there is two different stops. Don't be put off as it's not complicated and there is staff at the Espanya station to help you find your way and the trip is worth it! Montserrat is beautiful.

I stayed at this hotel for business. The subway into Barcelona is minutes away on foot and then only 10 minutes into the centre of the city. There is a large mall down the street. The hotel is functional - with everything you need for a business stay. The only detractor was the service on arriving - after flying for 24 hours we had to wait 5 hours for a room.

We stayed here for 6 nights in May 2013. Overall very pleasant but not perfect.

The good:
- Lovely comfortably beds (two singles pushed together in the continental way)
- Good internet connection (free wifi in the room)
- Location is on the outskirts of the city but really excellent, in a lovely little community. About 3 mins walk to a lovely beach with a beach bar. Very nice little local places to eat nearby (we enjoyed Please Plats, Kata and L'Ham).
- Staff were all really nice and helpful at all times.

The bad:
- My main grip was with the bathroom. There is no privacy to be had here at all so don't come here unless you are comfortable hearing your partner's every bowel movement and urination, The bathroom door is frosted glass which does not properly close or seal so you're basically going to the toilet in the same room as your partner. I'm guessing it was designed like that to let light into the bathroom (there is no window) but honestly it was very offputting.
- Tiny little tv, far too small for the room.
- Dinner in the restaurant was very very VERY salty! Either ask for no salt or be prepared to drink a lot of water. I had veal steak and french fries and both were practically crusted with salt.
- Bathtub was TINY! I am only 5'3 and I was uncomfortable trying to lie down in this bath. Certainly my husband who is well over 6 foot tall could not even try to have a bath.

However overall we liked the hotel, in particular the location was lovely as it is a quiet part of town and away from the hectic Plaza Catalunya. Approx 1 hour stroll to city centre. Tourist bus passes by about 2 mins down the road or there is metro station just around the corner.

I Stayed at this Hotel on a recent business trip to Barcelona. The Hotel is well appointed and the staff were very welcoming and made my whole trip a pleasure. The rooms are well appointed and well furnished. breakfast was of very high quality and was hassle free. A great value for money Hotel. I will be back.

The hotel location doesn't bother me as you always ok whenever in barcelona with the metro. Beautiful design, ok food and good staff.
Unfortunately, this has been my worst ever experience 4star hotel & the most expensive. Terrible air condition because they are trying to be green, temperature is controlled when you most need it in the night, I couldn't sleep in most nights and staff have nothing to do about this. Very itchy cheap blanket and no duvet. Terrible pillow choice, very skinny pillow and you are provided with additional pillow hard as a rock.
If you are very particular about your sleep, do not go near this hotel. Everything else is ok.

We are pleased to know that you were satisfied with the hotel´s design, food, and the treatment you received from its staff, but deeply regret that it did not meet the rest of your expectations. In this regard we would like to inform you that we take note of each and every guest´s observations, complaints, suggestions and feedback, always with the goal of improving.
We are likewise sorry that our temperature was not to your liking. Regarding our climate control system we would like to clarify that the hotel presets different air conditioning and heating settings depending on the exterior air temperature and the preferences of the majority of our guests. In these two climate modes, guests can individually adjust their room´s temperature using a thermostat. We would also like to add that the air conditioning is not left on 24 hours a day for environmental reasons.
In any case, those guests who are not comfortable with their room´s temperature or find difficulties in adjusting it can notify reception and our staff will take care of their request.
Further, we regret that neither the blanket nor the pillows were to your liking. In our hotel we have available a catalogue of different types of pillows so that we can adapt ourselves to the tastes and needs of our different guests. All of our guests who would like to change their blanket or pillow can request it in reception and our staff will assist them without a problem.
We are at your disposal for whatever you may need.
