I would agree with what the other reviews have said a about this hotel. Great location for shopping, the Ramblas and the old town. Close to Metro stop. Room was very modern and clean, stayed on the top floor at the back of the hotel - which was very quiet. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We had breakfast at the hotel which was fine. The area has loads of good restaurants and tapas bars. I would definitely stay at the hotel again and recommend it to others.

The Apsis Hotel has an excellent location, near to Place Catalunya and between the old en new city of Barcalona (old = ramblas, going out, small shops , check out the Born area and new= great restaurants, best shops).

Rooms were very nice for a european city hotel, don´t expect a very big room and beds, wood on the floor, iron and ironingboard in the room and TV with the latest movies and direct internet access - about 10 EUR a movie / one hour internet).

The Spa in the hotel is small but nice, a sauna, jacuzzie and a little pool. Nice to relax after a hard day of shopping.

Service was great, personal extremly friendly.

We didn´t have breakfast or diner in the hotel, it´s not necessary, we advise to eat in the restaurants nearby, like on the corner.

When I go the Barcalona again I don´t have to search a hotel, I know where to go, Apsis Atrium.

Ask for the room with a terras (on the back of the hotel)

This hotel is ideally located near Placa de Catalunya, with the noisy Ramblas on one side and the major shopping area on the other side.

The rooms are nicely decorated (modern) with dark (mock)wood furniture and wooden floors. The bathroom was excellent, wouldn´t mind having one like it at home. We stayed on the top floor which had a lovely big terrace.

Facilities were good, minibar with free water and juices everyday, bathroom anemities good, internet in the room (though not cheap, almost 9 euro´s an hour, use the free internet in the business center), pay per view movies (almost 12 euro a movie, but as almost all channels are Spanish except CNN you may want to see one or two).

Some flaws: cleaning was selective, bathroom door got jammed so technician had to come and open it, no respect for the do not disturb sign, rooms are smallish and beds even smaller, ashtrays in room are fixed but need to be emptied!

But over all, we had a lovely stay. Tip: don´t eat near the Ramblas, go to one of the restaurants in the major shopping area (Diagonal). We liked Captain Cook.

We chose this hotel based on the reviews in Tripadvisor. We booked on the internet and had no problems. The staff at reception were friendly and spent time showing us maps and helping us to feel welcome.

My usual worries about cleanliness were short lived - this is the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in and I am not easy to please.

We had booked a double room at the back - it was on the first floor which turned out to be a non smoking floor. We had no problem with noise and slept like logs.

This is the sort of hotel where you know you've made the right choice as soon as you walk through the front door.
