We booked this trip as a package through Expedia. We were extremely satisified by this hotel. It was very clean and was in a very convenient location for the Sagrada Familia and the metro - the city centre can be reached in roughly twenty minutes. There are also some decent restaurants located close by.
The lobby and rooms look to have been very recently decorated, definitely since the photos you will find on expedia were taken, very tasefully in red, white and grey. The rooms are quite compact, and I wouldn't think they would be ideal for anyone who uses a wheelchair. The bathrooms, although not so recently fitted are also extremely clean. The beds were very comfortable.
Some people have noted that the walls were very thin and consequently complain of noise problems. Although we could hear quite a bit of noise during the day this was not really a problem at night, since both my husband and I quite sound sleepers! If you are a light sleeper, this is probably not the best hotel for you!
The staff were very helpful and all spoke very good English. The only slight complaint I had was that on our last day, the lift was out of order and we ended up having to carry all our luggage down the stairs, which were quite narrow.... but I suppose these things can't be helped!
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good base to see the city. Barcelona in general can be quite pricey so you will save a bit by staying slightly out of town.
