We originally tried to go to this hotel a year ago after seeing the details on the Alastair Sawday website, but had our flights cancelled because of the snow. Very kindly, the hotel agreed not to charge us because it was beyond our control and I explained that we would definitely come again... and I'm very glad we did! What a wonderful hotel.. large rooms, great location, fabulous service, delicious breakfast and a complimentary bottle of cava for my birthday. Thanks for making it a perfect few days!

Solid 4-star hotel near the beach and Las Ramblas. Rooms were well kept. Fair prices. Right on the edge of the Gothic District and a few blocks away from Las Ramblas and all of that street's debauchery. Wireless internet in the hotel worked, which was great since many hotels we stayed at had broken Wi-Fi connections.

Rooftop terrace supposedly had a bar and a tapas menu, but no one was manning it during the two or three times we tried to go. A bit disappointing.

We booked this hotel, after seeing it online and since they had a good deal going on, and we had read the reviews here on tripadvisor, we decided to give it a try.
And I'm really happy we did. First of all the (e-mail) contract that we had with the hotel was very nice and they were so friendly and helpful. Thank you Joselyn, Marta, Ivan and the rest of the staff.
The rooms are nice and the hotel has got a great rooftop terrace (with a small pool) and a stunning view over the harbour area.
It location is perfect for exploring the city. With two subway/metro stations nearby: Jaume I and Drassanes.

If you are arriving by plane an easy way to get here is by taking the Aerobus (shuttle from the airport) this will take you to Catalunya and from here you can either walk down La Rambla, or take the L3 metro for two stops to Drassanes.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We just returned to spend a long weekend at the Hotel Duquesa de Cardona, having discovered this wonderful hotel several years ago. We got wonderful rooms, a great view over the harbour, and free breakfast, which was really wonderful with lots of Spanish treats such as jamón, lomo and local cheeses. We have recommended this hotel to several friends, as we love the location, rooms and the friendly service. We will definitely return!

We had to make last-minute changes in our dates, and the front desk staff was very accomodating and helpful, so we recommend this hotel for discerning world travelers who like the cozy and luxurious atmosphere, in a fabulous location.
