“Great option for early flights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

I was a little concerned after having read the reviews but I have absolutely no faults with our stay. I stayed here with my husband and two young children in April because we had a 6 am flight our of Barcelona. The staff was very helpful at check in and helped us to reserve a 3:30 am shuttle. The room was spotless and the king sized bed and pillows were very comfortable. My kids loved the bunk beds. There was some minor noise from the nearby roads but it was not bothersome. There was a separate hallway door that blocked noise from the corridor. We received an appropriate wake up call and the shuttle left right on time and got us to the hotel in less than 5 minutes. I cannot comment on the restaurant because we did not eat there but I was very glad that we stayed so close to the airport rather than in the city on the night before our flight.

I have now stayed at this hotel on a total of 6 business trips to Barcelona. I have never written a hotel review but felt I had to for this one to warn other travelers. This hotel is in a word, a disgrace. My standards for these trips are not high. I simply want to be close to the airport for my morning flight, able to get a decent dinner in the hotel, shower and sleep.

When I arrive every time, the heat is on in the room for some reason and it's blasting hot inside. Open the windows and you can't even hold a phone conversation due to the street noise. This trip there wer about a half dozen tiny hairs (I won't say what they looked like) on the sheets and one on the pillow.

The bathroom wreaks of urine, likely due to the unmaintained bidet that looks and smells like it hasn't been cleaned, like, ever. I might be able to ignore it if it were not in my face right in front of the toilet while sitting there. The shower is dirty every time, the yellowed shower curtains have brown moldy edges.

The pillows are soft, they have that going for them! But this time my bed (a twin size) had a big spring sticking up in the middle--seriously? I tried to sleep on the side of it.

Then there's the restaurant, if you can call it that. They obviously know they are the only gig in town. You can't walk anywhere for a meal so you're stuck. I have seen now at least 10 meals at this place and every time my colleagues and I can't even eat more than a few bites. Tonight we were served mojitos that were brown (I drink a lot of mojitos and have never seen a brown one) with brown limes and mint in the bottom. The "Club Sandwich" was made with ham and mystery meat (not bacon), perhaps some sort of spam. Do they think we won't notice? The shrimp was old and hard and dry.

Anyway, I strongly recommend staying in the city of Barcelona and just getting a cab to the airport. This is just bad bad bad. Hopefully this is my first and last ever negative hotel review!

I m currently staying in this terrible Hotel!!!
The weather is so hot and the staff mentioned that there is no air-conditioning in all the rooms! The staff suggested opening the window but My room is facing the expressway which is very noisy! And the sun is shining directly into my room.
I requested for a fan but is not available.
They try to to give me a different room but is equally as bad!
I suggest NOT staying in this hotel

We arrived at the airport at 3 am and called for the free hotel shuttle. We were very happy that it arrived so quickly and we were able to check in without delay. When planning the trip the hotel was very good about answering my emails promptly.

The beds were very comfortable with nice fluffy blankets and pillows and it was great to have a hot shower and nice sleep before our flight the next day. The hotel was very modern and streamlined but a little worn. We slept through breakfast but enjoyed the tea/coffee maker in the room. The wifi was fast too!

Just make sure you reserve the shuttle to the airport in advance, some people without reservations were turned away when the van filled up!

We got an excellent price for 2 rooms here at Tryp Barcelona Aeropuerto where English is spoken as well as many other languages. We spent a total of 5 nights here with our family and traveled around the Barcelona area. The rooms were large enough (no connecting rooms) and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Extra pillows and blankets were great. The hotel staff was very accommodating and kind. We had lost a phone and the cleaning staff found it and left it on our bed after we returned from site seeing for the day. Honesty is appreciated!

There were very small refrigerators with a mini bar (for price) and nice extras in the room including a robe, slippers, and toiletries like toothpaste and brush, shower cap, and a comb. The towels were soft, but absorbent. Shampoo and liquid soap are attached to shower/bath wall in dispensers. The temperature in the room was perfect and windows could be opened. There were mostly Spanish channels on TV, along with 2 English speaking, 1 French, and 1 German. There is a free fitness center with free cold water and towels on top level to use, but no swimming pool.

You can park for free on the street with easy access on and off the main highways. Also, there is a very convenient bus stop only 2 minutes walk that will take you to downtown Plaza de Catalunya in 30 minutes. The cost is 2 Euro or buy a T-10 ticket for less than 10 euro for 10 rides on any and all buses, metros, and trains in the area. Unfortunately you need to buy at metro stations or other locations, not sold on bus. The bus #94 and #95 come every 20 minutes and can bring you back at stop on opposite side of highway (just cross over pedestrian bridge to hotel).

The buffet breakfast is good with many choices, but a little expensive at 15 euro. If you reserve the night before it is 10 euro per adult (children 12 and under are half price). There is a hotel restaurant with room service with reasonable priced food. There are no other restaurants nearby as the hotel is located in a business park. The hotel can call and order Telepizza for you and deliver to your door. There is a free airport shuttle to and from airport- reserve in advance.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Tryp Barcelona Aeropuerto and would stay again.

Priced well and good location for the airport. Excellent breakfast. We came across this hotel after our flight had been delayed until the following day.Great relief after struggling with new flights and 24 hours on the go.

We booked this hotel for the first night of our recent trip to Barcelona, as we were flying in late at night. There was a bit of a wait for the shuttle bus but we got there in the end. The hotel was very modern, smart and well appointed, with huge, very comfortable beds and complimentary bathrobes and slippers. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast the next morning was excellent. Our only complaint was that the heating was set SO high, even with our air con set to the highest level, that all four of us had trouble sleeping. As a good night's sleep is the main thing you want from a hotel stay, that alone has knocked two points off our rating for the hotel, which would have got a firm 5 stars otherwise.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your positive and constructive comments!
On the one side we are really glad you enjoyed our facilities, staff service and breakfast.
On the other side, we are sorry about your unfortunate experience in regards to the heating. Our Hotel offers the possibility to have either the AC or the heating depending on the season and it can be regulated in each room. Spring and autumn are complicated seasons since the temperature might change from one day to another.
However, we take note of your experience and will definitely keep on working in order to avoid uncomfortable situations in future occasions.

Warm regards,
Guest Experience Manager
