“Do NOT miss this solid gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

Another treasure in Gràcia that can’t be missed. I’m speaking from personal experience since I almost didn’t go out of laziness. There are so many amazing things to rave about Gasterea. The pinchos (or tapas if you want to call it that way) were ridiculously delectable, even better than what I had at Ciudad Condal, long considered an institution in Barcelona. (Perhaps I tried the not so good ones?.) The menu is so reasonably priced you wouldn't believe it. The waiter was attentive and friendly. And the vibe? Totally authentic. I was the one and only non-Spanish there that night. Definitely a must-go when you're in Barcelona and want to eat on budget.

“Is there more than five stars?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

This is the real deal. Locals. In a cool area sort of like a little SOHO. Food is unreal. Tapas and Pinchos....Pinchos are like little sandwichy- type of tapas that involve a skewer of sorts. All fresh. All prepared as you order. A menu on a chalkboard that blessedly has an English translation. Just order the house wine. So inexpensive and delicious that we went back twice!

“Huzz”

A really nice place where you can eat really good food for little money. The service is great and their pinchos are even better (cold and hot). Its very well orgnaized and you dont have to wait for your food long at all. The guests are a blend between local people and tourists. The best thing about it is that you can order so many different things cheap and quick. All and all the best and the most relaxed place to fuil up with energy in gracia district of Barcelona.

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We found this place via TripAdvisor and it was only a 10 - 15 minute walk from our hotel. The first night we tried, it was closed (Wednesday), but Thursday night we were rewarded with a great time and fun pinchos! Sit in the back, if you can - that's where the hot stuff comes from. The two guys working the place had so much energy, it was great to watch. Our favorites were the shrimp, chicken, and pork hot pinchos - each with very different sauces. We didn't even bother with the cold stuff up front, we had so much to choose from the back hot items, and it's so hard to resist new items when they are put right in front of you. Cash only - we ate 11 pinchos between the two of us, several rounds of beer and wine, and it was $34!! Is it gourmet - no, but if you want a fun place with solid food - this is a must. A highlight of the trip for us.
