“A Remarkable Church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2013

This incredible basilica is situated near the Gothic quarter and is surrounded by some wonderful restaurants. But, the church itself is quite remarkable. Originally built in the 14th century the inside has been recently rebuilt after it was burnt out during the Franco purges of the late 1930s. The interior is huge and imposing with the most incredible pillars. It is a 10-minute walk from the Cathedral and just as impressive.

“Old church”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

If anything valuable to see is about its history. This is where my wallet was snatched by one joker who pretended to show me a business card after doing a flamingo dance. If you happen to walk around the Gotic area then just pay a visit and snap a picture. There is nothing to lose if you miss it.

“Absolutely Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

If you read Cathedral of the Sea by Ildefonso Falcones or not do not miss this Cathedral. The interior decoration is outstanding. When you consider how this Cathedral was constructed you will look at it with new appreciation.

“Stunningly beautiful architecture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

This church is located in the La Ribera and the admission is free. Take note of the time though. When we were there at 12:50, the guards asked everyone to leave and closed the church. The guidebook said there was free admission from 9-1:30 and then again from 4:30-8:00 in the afternoon. The wooden doors and especially the sculptures above the doors are interesting. Money from the shippers built this church. The buttresses inside the cathedral are really spectacular.
