Owner description: The Tablao de Carmen pays tribute to the great flamenco dancer, Carmen Amaya, born in 1913 in the gypsy quarter of Somorrostro which then existed in what is today Barcelona's Olympic Village. Carmen Amaya made her debut in 1929 before King Alfonso XII on the site which is today the Tablao de Carmen at the inauguration of Poble Espanyol de Montjuic.

Fantastic meal, scrumptious Sangria and a show to blow your mind! The energy, vitality and passion of the dancers was undeniable and even had my very stoic husband tapping along in time. To hear from him - that was pretty amazing' is a true 5 star praise for this wonderful attraction.
Not to mention the amazing village this attraction is set in! Our advice- spend the day at the village exploring and top it off with the dinner and show at El Tablao de Carmen - you will love it!

“Enjoyable night out!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014 via mobile

We only found this place because of the reviews on trip advisor. We booked in advance and really enjoyed the evening.

We had the tapas and show package and the tapas were nice...everyone gets theirs at the same time prior to the snow and they include dessert. They provide a large jug of Sangria. It you have the alternate choice of wine.

Don't expect a huge show with lights and costume changes etc and you won't be disappointed. This is a show stripped back to show their talented dancing, singing and passion which is thoroughly entertaining.

“Worth it just to watch the last person!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

The show was entertaining and the venue was in a neat location. While all of the performers were good, the last male performer was absolutely incredible.

“Interesting but Tourist Trappy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

I know that Flamenco isn't really a Barcelona thing, but it was still interesting to go see. The show is tailored to tourists, and it is located in an extremely tourist trappy area called El Poble Espanyol that I can't recommend going to unless you are going to the show.

“Wonderful Show!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

This show is a must see in Barcelona! We were seated in the front row and could even feel the wind from the dancer's long dresses! The dancers are so passionate and great at what they do...you could really feel that they were enjoying themselves! The only unfortunate part of our experience at El Tablao de Carmen was when one of the male dancers was so into his role/dance that he fell off the stage...right onto me! He felt terrible and really hurt himself, so that was sad for him. However, the show is great, and the large amount of Sangria served (1 1/2 liters for two people!) is pretty great too :) Make sure and check out Poble Espanyol beforehand - you get free entrance with your Flamenco ticket! Enjoy!
