“Fun evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

Maybe your experience of the show depends on your experience with flamenco. We have none, so no expectations. We got the tapas and sangria, great choice, put us close to the stage with a direct view of the dancers/musicians. The performance was passionate. The tapas were yummy -- definitely a full meal -- and the sangria pitcher, bottomless. We had a good time.

“If you are in Barcelona you can't miss this show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

El Tablao de Carmen far surpassed my expectations. I have been to a lot of dinner and show places and usually the food and table service is disappointing but the food here is simple and delicious. We had tapas and Sangria - there so much food we couldn't finish the dessert.
There was a slightly curt woman at the ticket counter but once you get passed her, the rest of the staff are lovely.
The show was fantastic, authentic, energetic and the performers looked like they were really enjoying themselves and each other's company which enhanced the show enormously. I think a good show should draw a response from the audience and this show made me cry, laugh, stomp my feet, click my fingers, clap along and seriously made me want to give up my career and become a flamenco dancer.
Please don't video the show! The performers don't appreciate it - this art form needs to be protected.

“Terrible food. Performance didn't meet expectations”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012 via mobile

We decided to go to this show after reading some reviews on trip advisor. The only thing it has going for it is the location, which is in a cool spot, and the venue itself. But once we sat down, I was totally dissappointed with the food and the performance.

1. The food is absolutely terrible. Nothing more to say.

2. The performance was underwhelming. The "artist" were over-dramatic and the old dude singing the songs was awful. It was painful listening to him scream into the microphone while the female artist performed what I would describe as an angry tribal mating dance.

We were in Madrid three nights earlier and saw the flamenco show at Casas Patas, which was 100x better.

“Great show”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012 via mobile

The show was great and with real passion. You could see the people performing where enjoying them self to and that results in a great show.

The setting is small that makes it more warm and cozy.

The only down site is that they rush the food so that every thing is finished before the show.

“A great night out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Booked this as our friends are really into dancing - they expected it to be a bit of a tourist trap and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We arrived early and enjoyed a wander around and drink in the Poble Espanyol a real treat in the late afternoon sun. We opted for the tapas meal option and really pleased we did, fantastic food, lots of it and loads to drink - refills just kept on coming. The dancing was amazing a real ensemble piece between dancers, musicians and singers - exhilarating and really well worth the money
